Custom, light weight Steel Challenge 617's
Have been building these for the past year. Quick to start and stop on transitions. No recoil. I've finished 9 so far, 3 limited and 4 open. Finally got one for myself. Trying to find 617's to work on is difficult.

The owner started shooting the limited class using the factory 6" barrel and a trigger job. We discussed ways of reducing the weight and hit on the idea of fitting a Tactical solutions barrel. I ordered a 10-22 barrel and thought I would make it longer for the sight radius.

I modified the 617 for one of my shooters. The barrel is a Tatctical Solutions 10-22 rifle barrel, cut to length and threaded to fit the frame. I'm not sure but I think the original barrel weighs as much as the gun does now. The weight reduction really speeds up transitions between targets...
Just finished up a 617 for shooting steel. Thought you shooters might like to check it out. What is surprising is there is NO RECOIL. After removing the 6" barrel, I thought there might be some movement but ---NONE.
