Thanks for all the comments, good food for thought. I will use my 64 to start with and see if it is too heavy and big for carry. Could be a good excuse to buy another gun if it doesn't work out.

Impatiently waiting for my Nebraska CCW permit to be approved. I currently have a Mod 64 with a 3 inch barrel and a 686 plus with a 2.5 inch barrel. I shoot the 64 a little better because it has a better trigger. I like the idea of 7 shots and a 357 mag, so I was thinking about sending the 686...

More I think about it I think I will keep it. They are still making the rifle, but not many mod 13's made these days.

I hear you. I am trying to trade for a rifle (private party), so I wanted to get an idea of what a fair value would be. Still not sure if I want to trade. Doesnt take up much room in the safe.

Looking to trade a nickle mod 13. 4 inch barrel not pinned and recessed in very good condition. Tight lock up not shot too much by me or first owner. What dollar value do you think it should bring in a trade?

I know the nickel is a tough finnish, but I could forgive myself if I messed up the finnish on it. Still wonder why I shot it after I bought it.

I have another 29-2 with a 4 inch barrel and I like shooting it better, but its a very nice nickle gun that I dont want to carry in a holser. I guess I just need to look for a 4 inch barrel to buy.

I have a mod 29-2 with a 6 inch barrel. I would like to have the barrel swapped out to a 4 inch barrel. The gun is a shooter in ok condition so its not a collectors piece. Will S & W do this type of work?
