Follow-up on sending my Shield back to S&W..

If you do this, period, you deserve a broken gun. It's common knowledge you down let the slide slam home on an empty chamber. With modern pistols you may be able to, but even then, I was always taught not to.

Follow-up on sending my Shield back to S&W..

Gonna need clarification on this. Exactly how does it damage the trigger bar? I have a pretty good understanding of how this pistol works, and I can't for the life of me figure how pulling the trigger to take it apart is any different then pulling the trigger to fire the gun.

Smith M/P line losing to Sig or Glock

My only complaint of the M&P design is the trigger hinge. I much prefer glock style triggers, but this isn't so much of a gripe against S&W as it is against apex for not making a polymer shield trigger. Tried the aluminum, corner of the trigger rubbed my finger to the point of blistering. I...

Accuracy is coming: Apex M&P Barrels

Randy, Have a quick question if you could. You mentioned earlier in this thread that the M&P barrel accuracy is hindered by the fact that the barrel unlocks early. By moving the slide even in the slightest, the barrel moves. This is very obviously caused by the loose fit of the hood and lug...

    Shield.......a pocket gun??

I pocket carry a shield 9mm in a desantis super fly pocket holster all day long. Before that was a ruger lcp in an uncle mikes. Knowing the shield has a striker block makes me feel infinitely more comfortable carrying that way. Comes down to common sense. Keep your other **** outta that...

Hardness test for MIM sear would be my guess, and yes, my pistols have them.

    Poor Customer Service options '06 M&P 9mm

Not true. The sear housing blocks changed, and the new design can not be put into older pistols. Read. M&P VTAC 9mm: A look inside | Modern Service Weapons As for the grit, it was mentioned before. Most, if not all grit, comes from the striker block. Installing the apex USB or polishing...

    Polymer frame flaking

If you rub the marks with your finger, does more come off?
  12. P

    Polymer frame flaking

Few questions. 1. Are there any protrustions on the bottom of the slide? Metal burr/raised portion etc...? 2.) What kind of solvent/solvents are you using the clean the gun? Have you ever cleaned it? 3.)Are you positive those marks weren't there before and you just didn't notice them? 4.)...

    M&P 40 Blew up!

You say the slide came off the gun? No offense, but without pictures, I find that really hard to believe. I've never once ever heard of a slide coming off the frame backwards and hitting someone. Not just one, but several things would had to have broken for that to happen. The slide is...

    Cleaning an M&P

Every cleaning? Lord no. Maybe once a year depending on much I shoot it. Would generally say every 5,000 rounds.

M&P 9C with serious accuracy issues...

You can send it back, on S&W's dime, and tell them it's accuracy sucks, but if they test it and it comes to spec, you pretty much lose all credibility with them on further issues. It's easier and quicker to have someone else shoot it, just to rule out that it's not "new gun" error. Spec is...
