My new Ahrends grips - love 'em!

I just got my new Ahrends grips for my square butt 686, and they fit and feel so good! I got the Retro Combat grips in the Cocobolo wood with the tung oil finish. I love 'em! I'm going to the range tomorrow to try them out, but even just handling the gun is a pleasure.

Anybody else like to keep their stainless Smitty polished?

I just recently polished my 686, that I inherited from my Dad. I used Simichrome polish on it, with great results. I replaced the Pachmayr grips he had on it, with some nice original smooth wood ones. I think it gives it more of a classic look. It gets shot often.

    New owner of model 686 - a few ?s

I am a new owner of a Model 686, 6-shot, 6" barrel revolver acquired from my dad's estate. I haven't owned or shot a pistol for almost 30 years, so I need to get out there and practice. I was wondering if I should start practicing with .38 ammo, or use .357 bullets right away. I've heard...

    Hi, new member from Pa.

Hello, all. I just acquired a couple revolvers from my father's estate. He had all hand guns, except for one .22 rifle. He just shot target with them, no hunting, and used them very little. I guess you could say he was mostly a collector. My wife picked out a Colt Cobra, and I wanted his S&W...
