    629 photo thread

My 629-2 along with my 686-6 It took me a while to find the right loads for this one but now that I did I just love shooting it. My 686 has always shot good with just about everything.

    Another new happy M&P owner

Probably too much but I wanted it so I bought it. $485. Sad part is about three weeks ago the same dealer had it on sale for $399 but I didn't have the extra $ at the time. Several places I checked didn't have one and said they were hard to come by. I did see a new one in a pawn shop and they...

    Another new happy M&P owner

I just couldn't take it any longer and had to buy myself an M&P 9 FS. I have wanted one of these for a while now but it seems like I always saw another gun I wanted more. But today was the day. I just sold a couple items and had enough cash to finally buy one so off to the gun shop I went. I...

    Anyone like ivory grips?

I have this set on my Ruger MKI .22 that my dad made and mom scrimshawed . made from elephant ivory back when you could buy it. Dad bought a tusk and made several sets of grips, jewelry boxes, pendants, belt buckles etc. Personalised with my initials on one side...

FOUND--- scope mount for early 629

I have a 629-2 that I would like to mount an optic on and I need a mount. This gun is not drilled and tapped so I need something like the Aimtech side mount or something similes. If anyone has one they want to let go I would be more than happy to purchase it from you. I can send a money order or...

    "coated" bullets?

I've been casting and powder coaying For a couple years now. I use the tumble meathod and it works great. Mostly only doing 9mm and they are definitely cleaner to handle and no leading whatsoever. I have tried it in .357 and .44 but not much. No problems in them either. I'm really not a good...

    Should I or shouldn't I?

A 686, Ruger SBH Bisley Hunter which i sold to fund this 629, a couple 9mm' s, 1911 .45 etc and have been shooting for 40 years however i only started getting serious about deer hunting with a pistol in the last few years. I just shoot better with an optic of...

    Should I or shouldn't I?

I recently bought a 629-2 with the unfluted cyl to hunt with and I have a dilema. I just plain suck with open sights. I have practiced weekly and still don't feel comfortable taking this hunting. Now the season is over so I have a year to get readyfor next season. My question is "Should I have...

44 mag Henry .432 vs .431 with AA No. 9 load vs SR-4756 Question??

I also have a Henry Big Boy .44 and I size mine to .431, lube with Bens Red and get no leading. I shoot the Noe 432-265wfngc (272 gr) over 19.5 gr H110 and it will shoot them inside of 2" at 50 yards with a Skinner peep sight. For jacketed loads I was using the 240xtp over 24.5 gr H110 and the...

How about a new school N frame beauty contest?

Here is my 629-2 I picked up a couple months back. This is my first N frame and I love it. I was getting ready to buy a 629 hunter but I bought this instead just because I already have a 686 Classic with the unfluted cyl so now I have a matching pair. I can always buy a hunter when my funds allow.

How does the 686 rate among other SW revolvers?

I really like my 686. It is a 1996 model with a 7 shot unfluted cyl and 5" bbl. It handles great and everybody that shoots it wants one. But mine is not for sale.

    CZ American Combo - .22LR/.17HMR

I have that combo and really like it. It was originally a .22wmr/.22lr and I traded the wmr for a .17hmr as it is easier and cheaper to get ammo. Plus the .22wmr didn't shoot as good as I would have liked. The .17 hmr is a tack driver and the .22 lr isn't too bad either. I also did a little...
