I hear you all... BUT... overcoming the killing of 20 6 & 7 year old children, each with 2 or 3 rounds in them with an AR knock off with a 30 round mag capacity is a steep hill to climb justifying the need and rights... good luck in the court of reasoning and public acceptance.
Take the advice of not trying to remove the scratches on a blued gun. You'll only thin out the bluing and compromise the guns finish some more.
DO NOT use cold blue other than very small touch ups. Depending the size of the wear such as holster wear on the muzzle I'd consider it. But scratches...

The Crosman Airpistol nylon holster at Wallymarts for $6.77 fits my 6906 like a glove It sits deep enough you don't need the hold down strap... cut it off if you don't want it... and it's gotta 17 round mag holder to boot.
For what it's worth on a 6906, along with the slide, I've polished a part of the frame just above the trigger guard (both sides) using a polishing wheel and jewlers rouge because of holster wears. It came out fine. The aluminum can be brought to a bright high polished level. Just don't polish...

I've had the same springs for years. It's not the age that determines spring life per se it's the number of compress/recoil cycles the spring has gone thru. I've got a 15 round mag loaded for years and the spring is still good.
My experience is it's the followers that wear out first. The wear...
Not a 6906 but the procedure is the same: YouTube - Magazine disassembly
Clean like any other gun parts with your favorite solvent. The follower wears where it hits the slide stop, the gun won't stay open on the last shot if it's worn. The spring wears on compress/release cycles not age or...
For what it's worth I have a 6906 that had a weak spring... the symptom it demonstrated was the slide would not stay open after the last round. Replacing the spring cured the problem. Weak spring symptoms I'm sure vary by the design of the gun.
From some investigation I was told by S&W it's not...
Thanks for the advice and recommendation guys.
I don't think oxidation would be a problem if I took the anodize off... I keep my guns very clean and they never see bad environments and I'm not going to do the whole frame. Actually I was only going to polish the raised lands on each side of the...
