Love my new shield 45 M2.0. Fits in most of my SA XDS-45 holsters. I find my EDC is the SA XDS 45 in a smartcarry holster. Soon this will be replaced when the ranges open again and I can break in my new shield.

Actually sold my SW .357 5 shot chiefs special years ago, no fun at the range but you can't beat .357. I am standardizing on .45, sold my glock 40's. Guess I am getting older than I must be old school :) I don't need guns in every caliber, trying to keep it less than 5 maybe 6 or 7. Tough to...

Good comments, think I am going with the compact so if I wish I to carry I can even though it would be more difficult than a shield. I haven't shot a M&P 45 yet. I hope it is as smooth as my SA XDM 45. With the compact, I could still use the 14rd mag for home defense. Just my opinion.

I only purchase pistols that have a CT laserguard, i.e. instant activation. One of the main reasons I switched over to SW from Glock. When SW bought CT, they stopped supplying lasers for other guns. SW has the most lasers available from CT.

You are correct but I did not see that section. Isn't a M&P also a SW semi-auto? As for the answers posted, I can't see how a 1/2 inch in length make any significant difference. Oh well, I have the shield, deciding on FS vs Compact. Thank you for you opinions.

Why bother with a Full Size M&P 45 M2.0 when you can get a compact that is about 1/2 inch shorter in length and same height & magazine capacity of 10 rounds?

Are the magazines compatible with all the .45 SW models (double stack), i.e. excluding 1911s and Shields? Like glock double stack mags are interchangeable between the models. Also, is 14rd mag the largest .45 available? And will it fit the full size, compact, and subcompact?

1st post here. I've owned SW wheel guns and rifles in the past but new to SW M&P semi's. Love my SW AR15-22, nice plinking gun. I just sold my glocks not bc I dislike them but bc they were .40 caliber. To me it is easier to have a few calibers to standardize on and I chose to stick with .45...
