    Thought it was time.....

Comfort, my 1 and only platform for 45 is a mod 25-2. It seems to like the load stated very much also. These certainly don't stress the gun, or me. I do have some primers, enough to get me by for at least a year or two. But I'd buy some if the price was OK. Last LPP I bought several weeks ago...

    Thought it was time.....

For some time, I was down to exactly 4 200 gr swc in .45. So today, it was nice in the shop, so I cranked these out. They will all go into .45 auto rim cases over 3.5 gr. Bullseye. I really like that load.

My First Model 29 - Scratched & Pitted

Unfortunate, but not that bad at all.I'd shoot the snot out of that thing.

    Bullseye

Is that a fair market price? I bought 2 or 3 lbs. a year ago at 20.00 lb. But, these are crazy times. As these 2 lbs. will yield me about 4000 rds of 45 auto rim, it's almost a moot point.

    Bullseye

Since 1976, I've used Bullseye, Unique and H110. That bottle of Red Dot out there was a just in case buy.

    Bullseye

After getting a pound of Red Dot in town yesterday, I took about a 40 minute drive today to get 2 lbs. of Bullseye for 29.00 ea. More than I'm used to paying, but not too bad. Tickled to get it.

Stopped raing for a little while....

Been raining in SW MO seems like every day. Fortunately for me, my club range has not closed, and I ran out today for a little bit. Took the mod 17, some Fed bulk, and a steel plate. Felt great. The sun actually peeked out for about an hour. Good time.

Got this many done before this happened

Got maybe 200 452-200 done this rainy evening before the sprue plate screw broke on my mold. Calling Lee in the morning to see if they can help. Or, is this my excuse to buy the 6 cavity mold? I have stimulus money burning a hole in my pocket.....

    Gas prices going back up??

Late to the party, but... Gas at Sam's Club today in Joplin MO 94,9. This is not good.

What was your first new-bought S&W revolver?

Mod 28 1977 My first NIB Smith was a Mod 28 in about 1977. Knew nothing about dashes and such then. I think it was about 175,00 at OG Wilson catalog showroom in Springfield, MO. My wife and I picked it up along with a box of factory shells, and headed to the range (outdoor). Having only had 22...

Ran out to the range this morning before the rain

Quick trip to the range before the expected rain set in today. The 17-2 and the 25-2 I think are officially my favorite revolvers. They always seem to make the trip. Federal WM bulk ammo, and 3.5 gr bullseye w/ 200 gr SWC in auto rim brass. I like all these things.

Took these ladies out for some sunshine today

The weather in SW Missouri has been cruddy forever, it seems. 55 today and sunny. 50 rds. through the 25, and about 150 in the 17. Been buying some Fed. 550 bulk packs at WM. About 2" groups at 15 yds. That's about as good as it gets for me. Man, that sunshine was nice.

    Another good day to cast

I mixed up a ketchup bottle full of it. I think it's a lifetime supply. Got rid of the stickiness I got with the LLA.

    Another good day to cast

My alloy recipe is very simple. Straight wheel weights. I get a 5 gallon bucket chock full for 30.00. Usually yields about 75 lbs. of material. Lube for these is the 45/45/10. Lee liquid alox, Johnson's wax, and mineral spirits. As these are plinking and informal target loads. this combo...
