I try and buy from the LGS and have in the past but my last few purchases have been from gunbroker.com. I got a sig p226 extreme for $830, LGS $1099. I got a springfield armory loaded 1911 stainless for $720, LGS $1199. I saved too much money even with shipping and FFL fees to buy local.
Let's say I wanted to sell a gun on gun broker.com as an example. I'm not an FFL holder so how do I go about selling? If someone was to buy the gun would I just need to make sure I ship it to their FFL to do the transaction? Any FFL holders on here have any advice. I'd be selling from California...
I just added a 1911 to my collection. I got a springfield armory stainless loaded 1911. I got it on a gun broker auction for $720...that's a pretty darn good price. My local shop wanted $1099 for the same gun.
Ive used GB several times, always on brand new guns. Personally I just won't buy a used handgun. On my last buy I got a Sig P226 Extreme for $830, my local shop wanted $1199. DROS fees of $25 and FFL fees of $50 and I still came out way ahead. Not sure how you guys didn't pay sales tax. If I buy...
Hillbilly, thats about the same amount I took off my followers too. I cut the spring because it was SUPER stiff when full length. I know guys have said it will wear in but none of my other 7 different guns are anywhere near as hard to load. If somewhere down the road I have issues I'll get mew...
I have a new one with maybe 100 rounds through it. Haven't noticed any drag on mine like you mention. I did just swap sights to dawson precision, so nice to now have 3 fiber optic dots compared to the stock sight. Have not shot it yet since the upgrade.
All I can say is it was almost impossible to get that 10th round in by hand. The mag spring is so long that I would think there just isn't room in the mag for 10 rounds, the fully compressed spring and the follower. I'm confident my fix will be just fine even after the cut spring "wears in."
I read a few threads on how to make it easier to get 10 rounds in a 9mm magazine. So I took my two 10 round mags apart. First thing I did was cut two coils off the spring and bend the cut part so it lays flat against the bottom plate. Then I took the follower off and took about 1/8" off the...
I picked up an M&P22 for my girls too, they are 10 and 13. The 10 year old didn't like the pistol and would rather shoot my Marlin XT17. She is deadly with it, 2" groups at 50'yards. My 13 year old really likes the 22 pistol and she's also good with it at 25 yards.
They love to shoot with dad!
Mine only came out once and it was a royal pain. Once I changed backstraps and put it back in I see no reason it needs to come out again. I don't use it to flip the lever to get the slide off, finger works just fine.
