I recently picked up a S&W Model 686 and am curious as to when it was made/shipped. S/N is ALV88XX. It has a 2.5" barrel and while it isn't perfect it is in very good condition.

So far I'm liking it quite a bit. Using a MASC OWB holster which is pretty good for the money. The gun is heavier than I'm used to but not enough to make me stop. I also have an M&P 9c and a 442PC is my rotation.

This is with me more often than not.

I have a PPS M1 and it has been a great gun. Small, thin and more accurate than I am. On those occasions that I wear a suit it rides in a DeSantis New York Undercover shoulder rig.

What good does the warranty do if the company is bankrupt. BTW I'd keep the Sig, not my favorite pistol but better than the R1 in my mind.

I think you scored a great deal for a wonderful gun with a large number of magazines. I've had one for years and wouldn't mind finding another.

Spec ops Better BDU belt. I have them in black and tan they work well.

At that price just buy it. You can always sell it if you don't like it. Doubt you will lose money if you do sell.

Bought one just like it in 1989 - 90 always wish I had kept it.

You should be able to find a LGS that can do this for you.
