    Shield envy

I had no interest in a .45 until the rebate and sale hit. I just couldn't pass it up. Well after shooting my Shield .45 a few times (400 rounds), I'm ready to make it my EDC. Shot 75 flawless rounds of Winchester Ranger T 230gr, which will be my carry round. Now I'm just waiting on a new...

    New Shield 45

There is a special package of the .45 with factory night sights and a third magazine. It's usually priced about $100 more than the base .45. Don't know if this is what the OP got.

    Shield 45 AWFUL GRIPS

I put rubber Talons in all my handguns, including the Shield 45. I didn't mind the stippling, but I'm just used to the Talons.

    New M&P Shield .45

Shot 100 rounds of GD and HST through my 45 today without issue. God, this thing shoots nicely. Recoil not at all what I expected. It's definitely a keeper.

Did S&W send you a confirmation email for the rebate?

No Email. Just the confirmation page after submitting.

    New M&P Shield .45

I too was pleasantly surprised by the amount of recoil. It's a small lightweight 45 for crying out loud.

School me on variable power scopes vs red dot sights

I began with a red dot on my AR, but after a while I wanted to be able to reach out and touch someone and be able to identify targets at a distance. I ended up with a Strike Eagle which can identify close in targets quickly, yet provide long range accuracy too. I keep my scope set at 1 (no...

    Holster Lessons Learned Expensively

Great OP. I agree with just about everything said. However, I've found that Mitch Rosen and Milt Sparks holsters are better than Galco holsters. For example, I have a Rosen Express pancake, a Galco Combat Master, and a Galco Concealable all for my G26. The Rosen works best for me. It...

    Scope or Red Dot?

In that price range you should take a long hard look at Primary Arms.

    Small Truck hunt

Consumer Reports used to rank the Frontier and Tacoma at the top of the midsize pickup pile. Don't know if that's still the case. The version of the Chevy Colorado that gets almost 30MPG would definitely interest me if I was looking to buy a smaller pickup. 30 is a substantial improvement...

    Concealed Carry Comfort

G26 in a good leather OWB holster (I prefer Mitch Rosen) is about as comfortable as you can get.

I agree that there isn't much worth watching on TV.
