    Barrel Twist Rates

Jeff, Thank you for a great reply. Very much appreciated. I do understand the twist rate for handguns is not so apparently important as rifles when stabalizing projectiles. However there is obviouslly a benefit to having the correct twist rate for a given projectile whether handgun or rifle...

    Barrel Twist Rates

Greetings, I am hoping someone may be able to help. I have been looking unsuccesfully on S&W site for handgun barrel twist rates. Also the number of grooves, the type of rifling and the rifling method used, ie Ballard cut or something else and are the barrels hammer forged, buttoned etc. I'm...

.357 No good in snubbies? apparently all handgun rounds the same?

The KEY words in above text are "WHEN IT COMES TO HANDGUN ROUNDS NONE OF THEM ARE TRULY IDEAL". Let's face it a handgun is designed for ease of carry, both concealed and open carry. As a LEO, I do not want to be walking round each day carrying a AR or some other rifle or shotgun. The handgun is...

    MP40SW Case Failures KABoom!!

Greetings, Been a while since my last post. Has any one heard of any S&W MP pistol with case rupture failures similar to the Glock 40S&W. Many may be aware there have been a high number of failures from the Glocks due to the case being unsupported at 6'oclock due to feed ramp design and/or...

Austrailian Smith & Wesson model 66s

Re OZ guns Guys and Gals, Don't really want to bust you or make any one upset. The correct spelling for AUSTRALIA is just that. I note many posters add an extra i. Remember we love Americans (and Canadians) please don't throw things at me. Regards Rod

    OZ Revolvers in USA ?

I'm sure there was more to the deal than the $1.00. Governments usually do not give anything away, the $1.00 is most likely a basic payment. The real savings to the Government would be the reduced price of the new S&W MP 40 cal. Regards Rod

    OZ Revolvers in USA ?

Further update on this, The South Australian firearms being sent to US are mostly 66 both 2..5 and 4 inch. they are not used in anger too often, maybe ten police shootings in a year. Even on the range, the firearms only have minimal use. Each two year period the officers must holster requalify...

    Model 28-2 I'm in love

I guess you might be writing about the new MP9/40/45 semi auto. If not I apologise, I own one of them. The State of Sth Australia, just dumped all the S&W revolvers, (they were bought back by S&W for refurbishment and sale in any other country than Australia), they were mostly all K frames.

    Model 28-2 I'm in love

Gun ownership in OZ is more than a bit difficult. However if a person who wants to shoot handguns, rifles and shotguns, go thrrough the club scene you just need to follow the dancing dot paper path. It takes approx six months beffore you can purchase your first handgun (longarms have no...

    Model 28-2 I'm in love

I totally agree the 27 is a much better finished firearm. However I point out I am not one of those saying the 27-2 or any HP is better. I just love the fact that you can load em up when you wish, I understand that goes for a 27 as well. Rod
