    I took delivery of a S&W 1911.

Yes. I like the CMC shooting star mags. No real reason in particular, just seem to be reliable and clean up well. A lot of the parts are standard with the other 1911's. Pretty much just the extractor, grip safety, and firing pin block are unique. Mine has all aftermarket springs, I had a...

    I took delivery of a S&W 1911.

Very nice! I like them, and I like that old billboard too. I picked mine up in 2009 and it is hands down my favorite 45 and usually goes to the range with whatever else I wamted to shoot that day. My extractor has held up well, but I don't beat the gun up either (never drop the slide on an...

    Favorite Range Gun?

Nice! I had to do a quick double take. Here's my favorite range gun, a 19-3 with Hurst grips. I have a handload that is basically a heavy 38 special in a magnum case. Very fun and accurate.

    351 PD

I use a DeSantis thumbreak scabbard. It is owb, but rides high and tight enough even a t-shirt over it works well. I don't have the laser grips, but there is a bit of a gap where the laser would be. Good coverage, keeps it clean if I'm going through brush or getting dirty. Good retention...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but where did you get those grips? My 351pd could use a set like those.

    model 69 schematic

Don’t know why I forgot about Numrich, they had plenty in stock. I got my package today (I picked up a couple spare center pin springs and new style sear springs too) and put the correct spring in. Much better now! Thanks!

    model 69 schematic

Thanks all! I have one from a very old ball point pen in there now (all the newer ones are too large). It should hold until I can get one from S&W.

    model 69 schematic

Ok... so I did lose a part. The center pin spring vanished off my workbench and I can’t find one in stock anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a standard or sae equivalent that would work for the short term? Thanks!

What's your most recent firearm purchase, and why did you buy it?

Thanks! Those are from Hogue. I stripped the carnauba off them and gave them a a couple tung oil coats to bring some life back to the wood.

What's your most recent firearm purchase, and why did you buy it?

I have a Mod 59 that is one of my favorites, but starting to show its age. It has been my go to plinker and fun range gun. but I’ve been needing to replace more parts on it. Well, I’ve got 9’s covered now, looking for a 4506...

    457 grips, best compromise?

Cool, thanks! I have the grip sleeve over a 9mm compact and like it, didn’t think about it here, I’ll give it a try. I picked up the Hogue rubber grips as an Amazon add on when I wasn’t shooting the gun much. Might be worth picking up a set of the wood grips now that I’m shooting it more...

    457 grips, best compromise?

Hi all, I don’t really enjoy shooting the 457 with factory grips, so I put on the Hogue rubber grips. Now I really enjoy shooting the gun, but the grips are a bit spongy and clingy. Anyone have a good compromise they use to get a bit more grip on the gun without having the soft/grabby...

    Another internal lock question

Had the same problem with my M69 4" as well. I didn't want to deal with sending the gun back, so just took the lock out. Bit then, the lock is highly redundant with other required storage/transport requirements in my state...

    S&W 69 .44 Magnum.

S&W 69 .44 Magnum. I picked up this 69 earlier this year and have needed to work out a few bugs, but it is a real blast to shoot. It has become my favorite pack gun, and with specials, is fun at the range. For a size reference, it is a bit trimmer and lighter than say a 4" Ruger GP100 and...
