I wuz sniffing around this LGS....

I'll bet one can actually get .44 Special rounds right now.... I put CTC laser grips on my carry revolvers.....come in handy when it's dark. Also great for driving the neighbor's cat mad....don't ask how I know this. Point out the issues, try and talk the owner down. It's worked for me before!

    S&W fights back

I wish them luck too. On the subject of the lock, one can plug it although Massad Ayoob is against it because non-gun people end up on juries. I found two Model 638-2's (638-3 started the lock) fairly easily and didn't pay more than $350.00 for either and I think one was $250.00. Both shoot...

    Smith Model 60 No Dash

Of course, a gunsmith should be able to fix that pretty quickly.

    Smith Model 60 No Dash

You feel a burr? If so, could you remove that with some emery cloth?

Anyone carry a Model 38? What dash?

I hope to pick up my new-to-me Model 38-2 in about a week. I may carry it, if I can spare the ammo to test it out. Currently I pack a Model 638-2 but I much prefer the older style hammer spur. Anyone here carry a Model 38?

Which weight J frame carry guns do you prefer?

That would be nice.....can anyone suggest a gunsmith to do that? The J-frame is a 5-shot .38 cylinder pushed into a .32 caliber frame. If CTC made laser grips for a Colt Agent / Cobra....I'd have that in my pocket over a J-frame. That's the only reason I haven't switched to a Colt.

    Defending Against Mob Violence

Ha! Got ya'll beat..... I ditched the smartphone in 2014 and went back to a flip phone. I never used any apps and never needed anything more than a map and road signs. I typically don't own things I am opposed to, so never getting a smartphone if I can help it. Smartphones and social media...

    Oh, by the way..........

If certain things happen in the Senate and Supreme Court....this "will pass" on a whole new level.

Which weight J frame carry guns do you prefer?

The only improvements I'd do for a J-frame are these: Full lug barrel---by that I mean "shrouded ejector rod." Longer ejection rod. Bigger hammer spur (638.etc.) 6-shot cylinder. So basically turn it into a Colt Agent.

    Crimson Trace Free Battery Scam

Seldom good for a big company to buy a smaller company....hate to hear CTC is no longer its own company. I never paid attention to their battery offer....I thought it was silly since their batteries last years in my carry gun. I think I've replaced the battery once in 9 years? I love CTC...

OK, so I'm a lousy shot.

I went to an IDPA match in 2001 where a uniformed officer showed up to compete with his carry arms. He was the only competitor to shoot a hostage. On the plus side he was so impressed with my Browning Hi Power he said he would start carrying one. Good looking 29 you have there....and KUDOS...

    Defending Against Mob Violence

When I traveled abroad in 1997, I got a print out from the CDC on what vaccinations I needed (southern Asia). Included was advice "avoid all political gatherings / protests." I'd do the same in the US, especially now. In fact, if I was driving north to ski (not this year) I'd avoid all large...

Which weight J frame carry guns do you prefer?

Scored a 38-2 today....if she shoots well I'll start carrying her. I really like the larger hammer spur of the earlier guns. I think a steel (49 or 649) is just too heavy for pocket carry, which is how I carry most of the time. Khaki pants, Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Crimson Trace...
