Not Kinda Rare, REALLY Rare .38 Safety Hammerless 5th Model

Thanks Alan. Yeah, four weeks ago my Dad and dog were both healthy as far as we knew. Surreal, but life events that happen to everyone. My Mother has handled it very well, which is the main thing. Another result of this was that I re-connected with my Dad's half-sister. They live on a large...

Not Kinda Rare, REALLY Rare .38 Safety Hammerless 5th Model

Thanks. So maybe 1931-33. When we found Dad's guns there were a lot of mysteries - this one, plus a Czech 1948 CZ45, a1970's H&R 22 and a bunch of rifles and shotguns. I also ended up with the CZ45 which is an interesting little pistol.

Not Kinda Rare, REALLY Rare .38 Safety Hammerless 5th Model

.38 Safety Hammerless 5th Model 2" Pearl Handles Hi folks. I haven't posted in a while - when COVID hit I had to sell my entire S&W antique revolver collection and just thinking about those revolvers doesn't make me happy. Three weeks ago on September 13th my brother called at 8:00am to tell...

    Newer Factory S&W Grips

Thanks guys. They do remind me of a pair of Altamont combats that I had on this gun a few years ago. I'm lucky I suppose, in that both pair fit my 686 perfectly. Neither of these are laminates. It's interesting that the photo has them listed as 'colors', rather than as types of wood. I used...

    Who has an FFL enabler?

My previous FFL was an enabler by example - he had the greatest handgun collection you could imagine, and he would talk up certain models until I 'had' to have one. One day I went to pick up a P320 M17 Bravo with new sights, upgraded trigger and that came with a pile of extra mags as well, and...

    Newer Factory S&W Grips

I recently picked up a pair of S&W packaged grips. When did S&W stop making these, or can you still get them? These were both purchased for my 686 plus, so I needed the round bottom. Figured I would buy both and then decide which I liked better. I was surprised that the Cocobolas looked and...

FOUND: S&W K/L round conversion target grips for 686

I only have the black rubber grips the gun came with, so looking to spice things up a little. Only looking for factory grips with medallions. Will consider S&W factory grips of styles other than Target.

    My Answer to an Aussie

As someone who doesn't hunt or carry, but just loves shooting guns, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't understand that some people just like to shoot guns. To me his question is about as strange as if he'd said "I just don't understand why some people like to shoot pool" or "I just don't...

    He wants his money back

Never understood people thinking their problems or buyer's remorse goes back to the seller. If you are a gun dealer, then maybe your policy involves 'no questions asked' returns, but private individuals should never have to be treated like they're WalMart.

    Wearing a face mask...

Never mentioned it, but when I saw your handle I looked it up and then ordered a copy of 'Absalom, Absalom'. Great book, so thanks for that. I disagree with both of you that the problems are political. All government decisions at any level are influenced by politics, but I'm seeing similar...

    Wearing a face mask...

Try that analogy with the hospital workers in NYC. Maybe they'll have a moment of enlightenment where they realize that all those people dying and on ventilators are the same as automobile accident victims. Then they can relax and it can be work as usual.

    Disturbing memo from SG Ammo

I don't see a problem with having 3 years' worth around, especially if you expect a shortage. Toilet paper, I don't really get. But the people who always have 3 years' worth of toilet paper probably don't understand us and our ammo!
