New Picture Since "Tinypic" went out of business, and my old pictures were taken down, thought I would post a new one. These are the mesquite grips that Keith did for me a couple years ago. I have since given them a coat of Urethane clear. The pistol is a nickel model 57.

Depends on the LEO, if you get stopped. Most are O.K. I had one, years ago, ask to see the weapon, he removed the clip, bullets and handed it all back. I waited for him to drive away before I reloaded. Best B-BQ in Texas is in Lockhart, not far from San Antonio. You will NOT LIKE San Antonio...

Took it to a pro in Uvalde Texas. Mine was kiln dried...no cracks/perfect !

Keith sent me a picture of my mesquite grips. They are for my 6" Mod.57, nickel. Mesquite is from my ranch...far as I know, the only mesquite grips Keith has done, I will post a picture of the installed grips, when the arrive.

Care to tell us what models??

Being heavier, the "N" frame pistol will handle full power loads easier than the lighter "L" frame pistol. If you are buying for home protection, you can get the lighter pistol, practice with light .38 loads and keep it bedside with the high-power ammo.

Here's a couple pictures of the grips packaging as received. Herretts is spelled correctly and the grips have the bushing. Problem is, they do not feel right in my hands...they are too small compared to the factory target grips, so I will try to swap or sell them.

Pictured are some Honduras grips I bought off Ebay for my Model 57. They were packaged in a Herretts cardboard/plastic package and advertised as "new". From the side they look O.K. From the rear, there is a substantial gap at the bottom of the grip frame. Makes me wonder if they were "factory...

Herretts does not offer mesquite as an option for their grip materials. They will use your wood. For Roper grips on a square butt "N" frame they require (2) pieces 3-1/2" X 6" X 1". Pictured is a mesquite plank I purchased today, it measures 5" X 24" X 1-1/8". Where would you take a set of...

A picture of some recently purchased hunting ammo for my Model 57...Speer 210 grain hollow points. Any idea what the case material might be?? Nickel plated brass??Steel??:confused: Thanks
