    Internall lock removal

Now that S&W is offering many, if not most of their revolvers, without the internal lock does anyone know if they will remove the internal lock if I send my revolvers to them? Or, any other thoughts? For the record, does anyone know the percentage of failures overall of the internal locks on...

    Opinion on Dry Fire

What is your experience and expert opinion on dry firing? I have heard that all Smiths can be dry fired which would include my 686 and 442. Others say be safe and use snap caps. I'm confused, any experts out there? Also, how would this relate to Beretta's pistols. Can they be dry fired or...

Couldn't Decide so I Ordered Both

MO_Mule, I do have custom grips on my 686 from Herritts, what a great job they did. What did you pay for the SSR? I bought my 686 about 3 years ago for about $500 - think they are around $800 now.

Couldn't Decide so I Ordered Both

I've got a 4" 686+P, would it be worth it to trade up to the 686SSR?

    M442 What do you think...

In my collection my 442 with Crimson Trace (got them from S&W with S&W logos on them versus CT) and my 686 are my two favorites. Also, put custom Herritt grips on the 686 making this one custom winner as well.

    642 VS 442

Consider getting Crimson Trace grips - I did, now I have the stealth look of the black 442 along with the best sights you can get (note, S&W offers CT with their logo on it).makes one handsome package

    642 VS 442

I too considered the 642 and the 442 but the 442 won hands down after a short time. Love the black look of it also resembles the Godfather gun in the movie. It is a real clasic. I put Crimson Trace on it and it is the best steath type CCW gun you can buy plus it is a S&W!!
