    2nd Model HE .455

More on my .455 HE All, thanks for the great info, knew I could count on you. I have examined the gun again and I completely overlooked a proof mark on the bottom of the grip. Also, based on questions raised, I am posting a few more pictures, serial numbers, caliber check, and one with my...

    2nd Model HE .455

Walked in to a local gun shop, I had not visited in quite a while. By the time I left, I had also left a deposit. Today I picked this one up: An unaltered 2nd Model Hand Ejector in .455 Webley. It looks to have been rarely fired, and never carried in a holster. Bluing looks to be 99% with...

Is there a down side to Federal primers?

I use Federal 215 primers for black powder rifle loads and they work just fine. For all other other loads I generally use Winchester primers. I use an RCBS hand priming tool, and Federal primers definitely have a softer feel and seem to deform more readily. They work, but honestly they're not...

    M1917 w/British Proofs?

Hi All, I recently purchased a M1917 which has in addition to the standard US markings, what appear to be British proof markings. Each cylinder has a crown over a coupled CP. the right side of the barrel has an NP, a symbol, then .45”, then .900”, then 7 Tons. So the question is: are these...

    The Real Hand Cannons

Purchased an XP-100 a few years ago, all original in 221 Fireball, absolutely love it. Fun to shoot, and load for. Excellent accuracy. It won’t be leaving me anytime soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    No more Hi Power

That is sad news. After shooting a borrowed one at a local range, I was hooked. I eventually bought one, WW2 Belgian made 640b (as the Germans designated it), and it now my favorite 9mm. I agree that prices may not increase by much, considering they’re already at the high end for a gun you’d...

I will need an education on Model 52....Update 9/08/17 Update 9/13 Pics Update 9/19

Love the Model 52 Karl, Welcome to the Model 52s. I lucked into 52 no dash, a few years ago. Some dope had used some kind of goop to build up the trigger (too cheap to buy a trigger shoe?) so the price was right. My gunsmith was able to remove the mess and now it shoots great. The original...

Anyone used new IMR Target powder yet?

IMR Target - a little disappointed Have to admit I'm a little disappointed in Target. I load for a S&W Model 52 and 2.7 grains failed to cycle the action. Not sure 3.0 grains, the listed max, will have enough pressure to do the trick. Probably the most problematic issue was metering. It was...

    What Do You Carry?

These days I usually carry a Smith Model 60 .357, loaded with Federal Personal Defense ammo. But sometimes I go back to my Combat Commander .45, despite lugging the weight around.
