I went on in Oct 1963 and was issued a heavy barrel model 10-6. You had a option to have the colt, it was issued by the PD equipment bureau.

Sorry I should have indicated hammer spring.i changed out my springs in my model 10 a few years ago and did some trigger work.Just did not ever try to remove the spring for 50 years no need.I am 74 and just had carpel tunnel surgery so I am putting in lighter springs. Thanks
