New Sights for my EDC
Novak Tritium Adj. rear sight, and a Trijicon Tritium front sight, both for a M-P. I installed them on my SD9VE. Hope I uploaded the picture ok.
This is a SD9VE, used the factory dovetails...
Minor fitting was done to the bottom (underneath) the sights.
Used an aluminum punch to drive them into the dovetails.
Looks factory and dead on at 15 yards using white box 115 grain Winchester FMJ.
Good luck on the new job!
When in Rome, do as the Romans...well to a point!
Display what the "Boss" wants you to display on your hip for now then work him in slowly to the SDVE. It would make better sense for your Boss to show a value priced firearm to the customers for the people that cannot or...
I just used the Apex trigger and the firing pin safety spring only...I was touching off to many double taps with the complete kit. For a striker fired gun I would just use the trigger and the firing pin safety spring like I did for safety reasons...using the reset on the trigger I am on target...
Shoot what you are comfortable with...shot placement in my opinion is more important than caliber or looks...remember after a justified self defense shooting your $1,000 pistol may not be returned back to you from LE...a $300 pistol wont be missed as much if LE wont return it back to you...I...
I noticed mine was crooked to last year...I warmed up the rail area with a hot air gun and re-set the rail to make it even...it has stayed put ever since. The polymer is kinda on the soft side. I fixed it just for looks!
GKC you are right...this is not a tack driver as the lockup is not the tightest however it feed and ejects anything I have been able to stuff it with with no problems at all! My trigger pull using the SW factory springs and the Apex trigger is 6 lbs. Good poundage for a self defense striker...
Poor mans Glock 19
Thanks for the kind comments! Being retired now lets me tinker.
I took a Glock 42 Gen4 with a bad rap for feeding and accuracy issues and fixed that one too.
I enjoy taking value priced firearms and turning them into the way
they should have been manufactured in the first...
Pictures added...used my Chrome Book camera...not the best...got rid of all
of my electronic media when I retired...flip phone and a Google Chrome Book is all I need now!
:cool:Just fitted a Novak fully adjustable Tritium rear sight for a M&P and a Meprolight .250 height Tritium front sight for a M&P with very little fitting...
Using 115HP Greenbox Remingtons and a little rear sight windage adjustment I was on center target at 15 yards all day long. Apex trigger...
