Anyone have any advice on some good sights I've seen the tru glo but also have seen a bunch of bad ratings on them so I just wanna get some opinions on some sights

I just ordered some truglo sights on eBay for $47. They get really good reviews from what I've seen. Most bad reviews are from stupid people. I previously bought some glow-on paint to see if that would work....and it's awesome stuff but wasn't going to get me on target better during the day.

I'll update when the sights get installed.

Any sights that fit the M&P pistols will work for the SD.

For plain (not night) sights, I prefer the Warren Tactical sights -- they have a slightly wider rear opening and work well with fiber optics or larger white dots on the front. However, I left the factory white dot front sight in mine, and it works fine with the Warren rear sight.

There are several fiber optic sights -- the Novak front sight has the brightest light tube, I think. S&W used it on one of the M&P models. Hi-Viz fiber optics seem pretty good too. I don't know about Tru Glo but never heard anything bad about them.

Removing the rear sight from the SD is easy, particularly if you have one of the newer ones with a plastic sight -- it slides out pretty easily. The front sight can be a bit harder.

The MGW sight pusher (about $100) is the best way to remove and install slides. Or you can use a brass (never steel) punch, or a block of wood, putting the slide (wrapped in a cloth) in a vise but being careful not to crush it. A slip with a punch and you will leave a permanent mark on your SD. I've used a small hardwood block with some success, and it has less chance of damaging the slide, but the best way is the MGW sight pusher.

Installing night sights can be a bit risky with the punch or even the block of wood; you can hit them hard enough to break the glass vial. Again, the MGW sight pusher is the best way to do this. A gun smith can do it, too, charging maybe $25-50 (?) for the job.

Sights are removed from left to right, and re-installed from right to left. That is, they go out towards the side with the ejection port, and back in from that side. If you try either task in the other direction, you will discover the cut for the sights is tapered.

New Sights for my EDC

Novak Tritium Adj. rear sight, and a Trijicon Tritium front sight, both for a M-P. I installed them on my SD9VE. Hope I uploaded the picture ok.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Sights are much better than the originals. Easier to pick up for me. Took some getting used to because the point of impact was much lower but I just had to change my sight picture and voila.

Do you know the model# for that sight you have?
I just want to make sure what I get will fit on my sd9ve since just about every truglo sight I see online says it won't fit the VE
