I just ended up using a bigger hammer. It worked.Good luck with the sights. I have all kinds of punches and pushers, but finally had to give up and hand it over to my gunsmith to do the job.

I've got big hammers, too, but not big enough cojones, apparently, to use them (the hammers) on such a little gun.I just ended up using a bigger hammer. It worked.
I actually tried Kroil first, but put it on immediately before working on the sight. Next time I'll put it on well beforehand to give it a chance to work. The guys at the shop recommended "Kroil" penetrating oil, let it sit for 24 hrs. Ended up using hammer, punch really tough but after a few heavy wallops got the initial "break/pop". Then not so bad.
Can you tell any difference in how the gun handles? Is it easier to put in than the factory?I have a blackened stainless one and it works great.
This past Saturday at the range I shot my BG2 (factory sights) for the first time at 25 yards.
I was very disappointed how poorly it did.
If I were shooting at a 10" paper plate, I would only hit 2 times out of 11 rounds.
If I were shooting at an 18"x24" silhouette, I would have landed 1 head, 1 neck, and 4 body shots.
For a 10" paper plate - 9 rounds would have been way low and to the left.
4 rounds would be lower than 12"
5 rounds would be lower than 5"
9 rounds that missed would be 2" to 6" to the left.
I'm going try again at 25 and 12 yards with my P365, and 12 yards with my BG2.
Next range day with my range buddies, I'm going to see how a few guys do with their favorite pistol at 12 and 25 yards, then ask them to shoot my BG2.
Nothing to be honest. I only replaced mine due to the issues getting the pistol reassembled about 50% of the time...S&W should have sent every registered owned a replacement once they fixed the issue...that is, if they have fixed the issue. What is the advantage of a stainless guide rod?
I use that gun, and an lcr, and a couple smaller 380s for self defense, and don't shoot them more than 21 feet. That is max self defense range, and longer than that will provoke an intense investigation by the man. If I want longer, then I shoot a full size 9mm or at least a 3" revolver. If I shoot at 15 yds and beyond I am braced on a bench or something solid, and shoot the wheelies SA.Yes... agksimon,
I viewed your video several times. Geezz!!.. that is really good shooting!
There's no way I can do that with my BG2 at this point in my "practice".
The XS Sights may improve my POA/POI, but I'm not ready to abandon the factory sights.
The factory sights are still off a little at 7 yards, and I can use Center Hold and Combat hold to adjust for elevation.
However, at 25 yards the accuracy of the gun? and my skills? go southwest.
I might bench test it, like I did when I first took it to the range.
I am going compare it to my P365XL, which has been extremely accurate, at 25 yards.
I'll do more "testing" next range day.
Maybe that's what I need to order for mine.Nothing to be honest. I only replaced mine due to the issues getting the pistol reassembled about 50% of the time...S&W should have sent every registered owned a replacement once they fixed the issue...that is, if they have fixed the issue.![]()
