    Tulsa Show Finds

I picked up a very nice 64-2 with the original stocks for $600. I saw a 940 in the box for $850 and should have bought it, but was looking for a 63-3 2" and didn't have enough cash for both. I I think I saw that 629 Mountain gun and nearly bought it. That gentle man had quite a few appropriately...

    s&w 686 2 1/2 inch pricing

Saw a 686-1 in the box at the Tulsa Arms show for $1695, box was not in very good shape. Pistol had been shot but was in excellent shape. I was watching this no dash on GB, and it went for almost $2200. Just a moment...

Question to you that have bought from the forum

I would insist on speaking over the phone with them. Ask for a non-stock current photo via text message with something added to the picture like a couple quarters and a dime to ensue they actually have the firearm. Use google maps to look up the location of the mailing address. Maybe google...

    Model 16-4 Prices

If it's a pre-lock with factory Goncalo Alves combats and LNIB, you can give a couple hundred more than it's worth. In 5 years, it'll be worth more than you paid. It's getting harder and harder to find mint guns that are 30-40 years old.

Two questions.. Average age and what got you started?

Early 50's. Dad had a model 19, and I remember him letting me and my cousins shoot right before dark so we could see the fireball when we shot it. I've been buying guns since I was 18. I've traded/sold a few over the years and always regretted it. I have plenty to shoot, so I only buy high...

    Thoughts on M386 PD

A buddy has one. We both have 329PD's and 360PD's. I'm now on the hunt for a 386PD. All things considered, it's easier to handle than the 329 or the 360.

    Vintage Rifle Scopes

I have an old Bausch & Lomb Balvar scope where the elevation & windage are made using the mount. It's mounted on an old Flaig's custom Mauser. Probably more correct for the 50's or 60's, but it's rock solid. It has a slight yellow tint, but the glass is clear.

    S&W Model 60 Ashland

Can someone confirm whether this end label is original or not. It's currently on Gunbroker. A few red flags for me. 1. The font seems off compared to some of my other labels from 1984-1985. 2. I thought the Ashland's with product code 102305 had a 3" barrel and that's how it's listed in the...

    What am I missing

I was at the Tulsa Gun show this weekend and saw a few 27-2's in mint condition with the factory box carrying 1800-2400 price tags, and I actually think that is closer to the mark than that GB auction. Thanks for the input everyone.

Got my room reserved for Tulsa . . .

I made it to the Tulsa Gun show this weekend. It was amazing. Best show in a long time for me. I sold a few and bought a few. I met a couple SWCA members and saw some familiar faces from last year. I made a made a deal for a NIB Lew Horton 629-5 Performance Center product code 170135. I was...

    What am I missing

I'm not sure if this is just a case of over zealous bidding or if there is something special about this pistol. Someone please help me understand the outcome of this GB auction. I can see this is primo condition of both the gun, box, and documents, but there has to be something I am missing...

    Worst Gun Show Ever

The Wanenmacher's show in Tulsa is still a very good show. It's not quite as good as back in the day of eastern bloc imports, but you can still find lots of interesting/odd items. It's probably the best place to find older guns and parts. There are lots of ridiculous prices, but there are also...
