I tried, but failed. But can it be called "failing"?

20 years old. Almost. 300K miles. I go divorced in 2017. Back then when I was broke, I was hoping it would last me a year. Ever heard the old joke "If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself"? Well, apply that to my truck. At some point I just started...

I also appreciate Bear Arms. Great shop. I wasn't upset about their offer. That's business. NW Armory also a good shop. I picked up a used Springfield Ronin real cheap there. Looks brand new. Fires just fine.

Hi-point??? $300 for the pair. I was happier to just pay asking price for the 29.

I packed up two guns. A Canik and a Walther. Neither of which I am fond of. Both minty fresh, maybe fired 100 rounds through each over the past few years. My plan was simple. Hit a few pawn shops. If I saw a S&W I wanted, I'd try to work out a deal and trade the two black pistols for a wheel...

A little story of a gun.......

So, this Chinook is being piloted by a local to Phoenix guy, named Jerry Clifton. Apparently this sort of stuff was done with a guy in the rear on comm, to the pilot. They would back the chopper right up to a cliff and load/unload. Rather cool. Jerry joined the Phoenix PD back in 1962, and was...

I finally did it, bought 629 Classic Update in post #38

Well, there's certainly no reason for me to start another thread when this one exists. This little guy did not follow me home last week, but it did in fact go from Bear Arms, under my care, directly five miles west to Nelson Ford for his nice once-over. I should actually have it home in my...

64-3 I think grips make the gun, but do they add value?

I've been told the OEM wood grips on my 686 are worth several hundred dollars. Gunbroker seems to show that as true. S.C.

Tale of 2 Airweight J Frames

Well, the girlfriend decided she can't keep the Airweight on her person any more. She does't shoot it well enough. The trigger pull being the primary reason. This is after it's been gone through by Nelson Ford. So it's now parked in my safe, and I got her a Ruger LCP Max. She shoots that much...

Tale of 2 Airweight J Frames

A couple weeks back, I got the girlfriend's Airweight out at her dad's ranch and tossed some lead down range. At 75 feet, I was hitting steel plates consistently. I was thrilled that I could do that, with that little snubby. I had no confidence I could. S.C.

    S&W Model 101

I just brought one home. On the butt, it's stamped "PPD nnnnn". I live in Phoenix, I assume this was an old Phoenix Police Dept. service revolver. Clang, mine looks to be the same as yours, with the heavy barrel. This gun may have some cool history. I wonder if the PDD can tell me anything...

Tale of 2 Airweight J Frames

I recently picked up a 642 for my girlfriend, and didn't even fire it, and dropped it off with Nelson for some work. He's been my guy for more than 20 years. He does excellent work. Nelson showed me the target he tested the gun with and it was also shooting to the left. I took it to the range...

    REPLACED AFTER 35 YEARS

To me, a microwave is a giant, $500 clock, stuck over my stove. I'm actually trying to convince the girlfriend to eliminate our microwave when we remodel the kitchen this year. Instead, I want a kick-*** hood fan, since I do spend a lot of time at the stove. Anyway, just watch your food as it...

    Did Someone Say Whine?

I tried having a discussion today with a left leaning guy I know, about the importance of the family unit, and how it has eroded over the past 40 years. Unfortunately, all this guy could do was deflect, accuse, and anything other than agree or disagree that there is something to be said about a...

    Airzona noob checking in

Hello, Leonardo. My girlfriend's daughter in law is from BA. It's likely I'll be visiting Argentina in the future, so the daughter in law can show her new baby to her father. We plan on making it a family trip, with a bunch of us flying down and spending a week. S.C.
