    The 686 is back after 8.5 weeks...Yeh

Out of the box the cylinder was binding. Didn't realize it until left the dealer and because of the 30 day between hand gun purchases in CA figured I would get it back before I could have even have gotten the dealer to exchange. I hold no grudge and am a happy guy today...time to go to the range

    The 686 is back after 8.5 weeks...Yeh

Seems like it was repaired almost a month ago and was sent back and forth from the shipping room and back to service 3 or 4 times without getting sent out because service didn't include the correct paperwork to ship to a CA dealer. Next time I know to ship it myself to avoid this issue. Thanks...

Factory Quality Control Problem w/ new 686

OK this is strange. So I finally call myself to see if the dealer is making this stuff up after 9 weeks. My dealer is an S&W authorized dealer so I thought it would be faster and smoother if they handle the warranty shipping etc. with my defective out of box 686..Well according to S&W the hold...

She left me 2 weeks ago..when will I see her again? My new 686 had a factory QC issue from day one (binding cylinder)...I should have realized it before I took it home but what do I know..I'm new. The store sent it back to S&W on April 17th...How long can I expect to wait to get it back...

Factory Quality Control Problem w/ new 686

I never believe the QC compliants I read online because people with problems will always complain so it is to my dismay that I am "that guy" now. Picked up my new 686 4 inch a few days ago and went to range. While the trigger is heavy it got real heavy(sticky) for 2 out of the six shots. So I...

picking a s&w revolver to restart revolver collection

I was also new to revolvers and first got a 617 about 4 months ago. Put 2500 round thu her then just bought a 686 4 inch the other day (10 day wait in CA). The 617 gives you a lot of cheap practice. My ammo cost for the 2500 rounds was only about $150. Where the same amount of shooting will...

Time to make some big holes

Bought a 617 about 4 months ago (first handgun) and shot about 2500 rounds thru it (beauty of 22lr prices). Traded it in today for a new 686 4" now got to do the 10 day CA wait. Thanks S&W forum for pointing me in the right direction... the 617 was the perfect first range gun and got me a lot...

Need advise on S&W .22LR Revolver

Its OK in California..got my 617 6 inch about 8 weeks ago and am loving it. Ammo is cheap so you can get a lot of shooting in for a small price.

    Thanks from new S&W Owner

Guys- Want to thank you for all your insights and opinions on this site. After following the site for awhile I bought my first handgun (new S&W 617) a couple of months ago. My thought was to get a lot of inexpensive practice with a similar frame then get a 686 down the road. So far about 1500...
