Browning Hi-Power as a carry gun

Oh my gosh, why the heck NOT! It's only been around just a few years, but I own a MKII and a MKIII in MARPAT. I load them with Remington's 'boiler plate L9MM* series ammunition', since the MKII is an older series model. When I don't carry it, I'm carrying my Model 15-3.

Is "Leadless" Ammo also thought of as 'soft point' ammo?

re: is leadless ammo ... I placed the query for the following reasons: 1. At "twenty bucks for twenty bullets that might fail at the wrong Murphy moment". 2. With the last "in-country" lead smelter having closed its facility, thanks to the QIC in Washington, D.C., one has to explore all the...

Is "Leadless" Ammo also thought of as 'soft point' ammo?

Dear Readers, With the manufacturing of what is now called "leadless ammunition", or, "enclosed base" ammunition, can these bullet designs also be considered as a form of a 'soft point' bullet, as the nose of the bullet does have an exposed nose of lead, not a jacket of lead? I supply two...

    Combat Effectiveness of the .38/44?

The OP asked that question: "What is the combat effectiveness of the .38/44?" Ok, yeah, as an earlier revolver built to withstand heavy abuse, and heavy caliber loads, why not as a combat piece of choice? In it's time, it is more modern than say, a Colt SAA. I'm doing fine, getting educated as...

    Revolver Carriers Speak Out!

I was shooting an EAA Witness Compact-steel that I had purchased for CCW purposes. When it shot, it was accurate, no trigger bite, and did function well. BUT!! With intermittent FTE/FTF and double feeds, and no means to collect a few magazines, since the factory changed magazine design, in the...

How do you keep/store your S&Ws

RE: keeping storing my SW's Once cleaned from the range in Ballistol, they are placed inside Case-Gard Pistol boxes, with a dehydrator pouch, locked, and placed inside a footlocker, inside a closet, locked. Then all the "Fibber McGee" stuff goes back on top of footlocker, to complete the scenario.

Reply from Questioneer Thanks folks, for answering my question. In these times, where we as Americans are battling anti-gun legislations/legislators, batnuts anti-gun lawyers in courtrooms, died-in-the-wool pantywaisted slobs, who would pick up a revolver/pistol with two fingers, (with the...

Hi! When wadcutters are suggested a s a personal defense round, has anyone found that the BitterrootValley Ammo Company's 148-grain load, travelling at a reported velocity of 875 fps, sufficient for their needs? I remember Mas Ayoob stating that a round traveling between 750 - 850 fps would...

    Firearm photos

Well, since folks are going to post pictures of guns and knives, I have a suggestion. If anybody knows, or remembers, the 'standard' icon of a "Miner Forty-niner" had two things in his hands. One was a PEPPERBOX, and the other was a BOWIE KNIFE. "if the right one don't getcha, the left one...
