Agree that is totally messed up. Were you shooting at paper? If so, did you notice keyholing at 100 yards, by chance? EDIT -- sorry, cyphertext beat me to it with basically the same answer!

I'll be interested to hear of your impressions of your Sport II, one you shoot it. I'll be curious to hear how its accuracy compares to your DPMS. I know in my case, I was pleased with the accuracy; here is what I managed (at 25 meters with the irons)... My first 3 groups... For reference...

jsimpson, mine weren't "dead on," but not too bad at all; I was surprised that it was as close as it was. Windage was good, but I was about 2.5" low of my aim point at 25 meters (needed to be about 1.2" low to be zeroed at 50). So some simple adjustment of the front post sight to bring it up...

I'd consider selling mine; I replaced mine immediately with a Magpul buttstock (wanted OD green furniture) and never even used the S&W stock. I'll send you an email. Or, PM me if still interested... Steve

Hit the range today, FINALLY, for the first time with my new Sport. It was my first time firing an AR, and I really enjoyed it. LOTS of fun! I found this to be a really fun gun to shoot; obviously I have nothing to compare it to AR-wise, but I thought it was great. I chose to do a 50-meter...

I bought the less-expensive AIM sports one, too, from Amazon, knowing I wouldn't have to use it that often. It's worked out fine for me. Definitely makes the job easier, though I did do it once without the tool. Harder to do, but do-able. Steve

Let us know how you like it, once you've had it to the range. I just got a Sport recently, but have only stripped/cleaned/lubed it, and installed a Magpul kit -- haven't fired it yet. I'm expecting to hit the range this weekend... Steve
