What Jimmy said. I have an original ******* shoulder holster for a J frame, and it's what I wear the few times I use a shoulder holster. I vividly remember fishing my Model 60 back up gun out of a puddle after the upside down holster let it lose at a traffic stop.
SP101 grips
I just today replaced the Hogue grip on my SP101 with a pair of Eagle Secret Service grips. They are shorter and more CC friendly than the Hogues. The only downside is the price; I was able to get mine on an on line auction for about 1/2 of retail.
I have a number of holsters crafted by Lou Alessi, some which go back almost to the beginning of my 39 year law enforcement career. I have a pull through shoulder holster for a J frame and one for a 1911. Both still work the way they were designed years ago.
I bought a blued Taurus 431 3" last week, box and papers and a Desantis holster for $350. At the range it shot both factory and reloaded 240 grain ammo 4" high at 20 yards. (I like the gun, is there a load that will shoot to point of aim?)
Last week I bought a 1966 vintage M36 with some holster wear on the barrel and the cylinder for $300. It also came with 200 rounds of Winchester white box 130 grain ammo, 50 rounds of Hornady hollow points, a holster and a gun rug. So the cost of the gun alone was about $200. Best deal on a J...
CW40
I traded a PM9 for a PM40 which I pocket carried for several years. I liked it so much I acquired a CW40 last fall which is the winter carry gun. Both are flawless feeding Federal 155 grain Hydra Shoks.
I went through two Kel Tec P3AT's and a Ruger LCP. All worked fine in their role as back up gun. About six months ago I sold the LCP and bought a Kahr CW380 to match the Kahr PM 40 that had become my EDC. I fired 100 rounds of FMJ reloads through it before shooting 25 rounds of Winchester Ranger...
Kahr 380
I sold my LCP and added $60 and purchased a Kahr CW380. If it is bigger I didn't notice, and it shoots like a big gun. It's my new back pocket BUG.
