I have boot grip set on an S&W 640-1. Ruger's SP101 has a different type of grip mounting process. Please identify boot grip for SP101 that does the same job - that is, short, thin, backstrap [of grip] having comparably short distance to centerline of trigger that allows small hand double action convenience.

I am interested in both rubber-like synthetic and wood.

I believe Eagle Grips makes their Secret Service boot grips for the SP101.

Gemini Custom and others make boot grips for this gun. But I don't know that I'd want boot grips on a small .357.

I've left the stock grips on mine, with the Xenoy inserts, because I've heard of recoil with full loads cracking wood panels. If I used the attractive Hogue grips to ease recoil, the gun probably wouldn't fit either the factory box or the gun rug I keep it in.

Go to the Ruger boards for pics of such grips and addresses of manufacturers. Ruger.net usually has more pics than Ruger.com. Some grip maker in Thailand sells a bunch here, and customers report about two weeks for delivery. He may have boot grips. But I'd think really hard before buying any. It's your gun and your hand. I can only tell you what I'd do. It's free advice.

I have this Eagle boot grip on my SP-101, 2 1/2 inch. Perfect fit, perfect feel. Good carry. You could shoot .357 all day and night with out a problem.

I have the Eagle Secret Service grip on my SP101. They fit my hand fine, work well with 357 ammo and don't add any size to the gun. YMMV.

I bought a set from Gemini Custom. Compliments deserved.
Well fit, well finished, and very good looking wood, but; when I took it out of the holster and laid it on the bedside table each night I didn't like it's looks, so I replaced the originals; with some different center panels.

"Didn't like it's looks" ?!? Yeah well, that's how I felt.
I bought the Ruger for it's caliber, it's rep for quality, and especially for the THREE INCH barrel. The "boot" grips made the three inch SP101 look like a FOUR INCH SP101 !.....If I woulda wanted to haul around a four inch .357; I woulda got a 19-3 outa the cabinet.

Silly; yes it tis; but I have done things far more silly than that.

Badger Custom. I have a set on an SP101 3". A little wide, but other than that, I like them a lot. Puts my trigger finger in a better position than the factory.

The crimson trace grip for the sp101 is about perfect imho, the laser is a bonus.
