Congratulations on your purchase. Pachmayr grips are almost a necessary on some Ruger revolvers IMO. I never liked the factory wood on these guns.

AA #2 and WW. 231 have replaced Bullseye for me.

My Dad entered the Navy in 1944. He had one year of engineering at Purdue University so the Navy enlisted him at E-4 and sent him for electronics training. After training he repaired and calibrated radar systems on Navy ships until the war ended.

My 55th is this summer also. I will be working out of state so I'll miss it this year. I've driven by the school recently and can hardly recognize the neighborhood.

For a NIB gun, yes. Pricey, but worth it IMO.

FYI: Nickel plated, not stainless steel.

I use only .45 Auto Rim in my 625. I save the ACP rounds for my Gold Cup. 4.9 grains of 231 with a 200 grain SWC. Same load for both guns.

I've had a CZ 75 for two years now. Accurate and reliable, but with a spongy trigger that took me getting used to. A great gun, but not as great as my first true love, the Browning High Power.

I teach about 50-60 new shooters (beginners) each summer using S&W .22 revolvers. I have both J-frames and K-frames , Mod 34,63,17 and 18. Overwhelming favorite is the 4" Mod 63. Second is the Mod 34. Nobody likes the Mod 17 but the lighter Mod 18 does get some favorable comments. My advice...

I would get the Model 18 and forget about the Model 17. I can't see owning both.

An elderly friend told me his father carried one of those .32 revolvers in his school bag as a teenager in 1930's Poland. Same model.
