I have been reloading since 1979. I was flabergasted to learn there will be no more Bullseye Powder. I used it for everything from .380 to .38 special, .357 mag, .45 ACP, .45 Colt etc. What are you going to switch to when your supply of Bullseye runs out?

Bruno’s Shooter Supply sent out an email this evening saying that they have an Alliant Powder shipment coming in one-two weeks that includes Bullseye, BE-86 and Power Pistol among others.

I abandoned Bullseye and went to WST. The newer formulation of Bullseye gums up my powder measure. That, and it's nigh impossible to get made Bullseye dead to me. WST works very well in my uses previously served by Bullseye.

I received the same Bruno's email that Beancounter81 mentioned. They will take pre-orders starting tomorrow. The phones will probably be jammed. My guess is the Alliant powders they're getting will go fast and prices will be high. The less cynical side of me hopes this is the beginning of Alliant's return to handloaders. But I'm not holding my breath. I'll stick with WST as a Bullseye replacement. I don't yet have an answer for Alliant 2400 when my stash goes away.

WST is an excellent choice. There's also Titegroup and W231/HP38. I was never a big fan of Bullseye and have been using W231/HP38 for decades in its stead. All three are pretty available though WST seems to be higher priced. But at least all three are available.

I'm thinking Alliant is going to lose a lot of market share by the time they get their products back to market. I have noticed that BE-86 seems to be widely available. I think BE-86 is more like Unique but they must produce that separately from all their other powders. Or something. I've never seen an explanation.

Titegroup for me. AA#9 or Enforcer for my 2400 “replacement”. Unique is the harder one…..
For Unique I'm using CFE Pistol. There's also BE-86 and W244 I used Universal as a Unique substitute for a long time but that isn't any easier to get these days than Unique. I chose CFE Pistol because it seems to be everywhere. If you look at the data it often produces top velocities in non-magnum cartridges, or close to it. I haven't tried the others.

N310 for 45acp light accurate range loads. It's used by some of our Military pistol teams

In place of Bullseye ...

700X
Red Dot
W231
HP38
Accurate #2
WST
TiteWad

But the truth is ... no powder is better in my target wadcutter loads than Bullseye !

AA#2 for me.
I’ll second AA#2 and add Nitro 100NF. AA#2 has replaced HP38/231 for me and meters much better, is much cleaner in light loads and isn’t position sensitive.

Nitro 100NF is just a touch faster than Bullseys and has many of the same characteristics.

I still have 2.5lb of Bullseye though and I should be good for a while.
