My better half walked into my loading area and asked "Oh My God, how much ammo do you think we need?" I answered "Oh My God, how many pairs of shoes do you need?" She walked away and never said another word!!
I came across this used 1066 many years ago, and since I love the 10mm caliber, the gun really fit my needs. Like you I will never sell it as it is a great carry weapon. Shoots straight and has never malfunctioned.
I would however love to have a 1006 as well.
First off....my favorite caliber handgun for over 3 decades has been my .41mag revolvers. I have two stainless Ruger Redhawks. One is a 7.5" with a 2X Leupold Handgun Scope that I use for handgun hunting and a 4" custom that is my field carry.
I always wanted a gun that would get close to the...
15 years ago I shot my first 10mm and fell in love with the caliber. I ended up buying the gun from him. It was a Colt Delta Elite Gold Cup and it was like brand new with box and all papers. Though I love 1911’s I did not want to carry this one. I put an ad on several gun forums that I wS...
For about 10 years I’ve carried my 1066 IWB in a Milt Sparks holster. It is extremely accurate and has never malfunctioned in several thousand rounds! I have two other 10mm and this is the only S & W gun I have.
I know this is the S&W Forum, and though I have several Smiths, I hunt with a Ruger Redhawk .41 mag with a 2X Leupold Handgun Scope on it. The ammo I have killed just about everything with is the Remington 240gr Platinum Tip. It is incredibly accurate out of this gun and it helped me take a book...
I have been carrying concealed since the Texas Concealed Handgun License came out. I have tried all kinds and sizes of weapons and realized that the weapon is only a small part of the equation. There are so many variables that make concealed carry comfortable, accessable and especially...
My personal feeling would be to return it to Smith & Wesson's Custom Shop to have it done. I dont personally know anyone that would be more careful.

I was cleaning my 1066 this morning and decided to "try" to remove the grip. I drove out the pin in the bottom and tried to pull in every direction.....I simply could not get them off. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. Do's and dont's and thanks in advance. This is my first Smith...
Just joined the ranks of the S&W Semi-Auto Club. I have been looking for either a 1066 or 1076 for many years and came upon this one completely by accident. This 1066 came with the original box and unfiled paperwork as well two extra brand new mags. I got it in and immediately left the office...
Ok all you fine fellows in the know....the gun came with a magazine that has a yellow follower and two other S&W marked mags with completely different looking white followers. What is, if anything the significance of the two different colors and is one better than the other? The target was shot...
