If you got them as investments, keep them unfired.
I do not buy guns as investments and fire all that I have because that is why I bought them. Different people buy guns for different reasons.
I suppose it depends on several things. What do you want to do with it and do you reload? If you want a powerful handgun that fires readily available powerful ammo, get the 44 Magnum. If you want to search out specialty high power ammo or if you reload and want to tinker around a bit to come...
My mailman hates them because he has to carry those heavy boxes up a flight of stairs. I have used their bullets in 22, 40, 45, and 9mm with no problems. I just two more boxes of them last week. I wish they would make 30 cal FMJ bullets.
I have owned several that are interesting to me. At the moment I have an Irwin Peterson M1 Carbine. It shoots great.
Perhaps my favorites are the Pomeroy muskets that were made by one of my ancestors. I have shot one of them.
I have also enjoyed shooting a 1851 Navy Colt that my Great...
The dies should be labeled for both if they can be used for both. I have found that most of the more recent die sets I have bought have been labeled for every chambering for which they can be used.
I would look at several different data sources to see what they say. I don't load 10mm and have no pet loads for it. If I started loading 10mm I would go to the powder company data, to the bullet company data, and to any other data I could find to try to get a good idea of what a safe load...
I do it all the time without any problems. Look at the data for 357 Mag and find the velocity you want. I use a lot of Trail Boss in 357 Magnum with good results. The max charge for 357 Magnum and 38 Special are the same for Trail Boss with the bulltes I use most.
A kinetic puller will work for all rounds, but a collet puller will trash lead or plated bullets. I have both. I use the collet type when I can and the inertia type when I must.
You need the inertia type if you are going to salvage the plated bullets.
I have broken one kinetic puller but have...
I respectfully disagree with Mr. BlackhawkNJ. Get a bench-mounted press in the beginning. You can learn the procedures just as easily and will not have to spend extra money on new presses when you outgrow the hand presses.
The advice about getting several manuals to read is very good. Get a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit. You will then need a shell holder and a set of dies. Get a set of carbide sizeing die. Pick components based on the loads listed in the manuals and stick to those loads.
You...
I have several pinned/recessed revolvers and several that are not. Why did they stop pinning the barrels?
I have an unpinned 629 that recently had to go back to S&W because the barrel had screwed farther into the frame from years of shooting. I suppose a pin would have kept that from...
