    Not happy with Remington UMC

There wasn't much price difference between the Remington and the Winchester, and I didn't realize there would be such a difference in performance.

    Not happy with Remington UMC

I was at the range today and was not getting good results with a new box of Remington UMC leadless in 38 special. I was shooting a Model 27-2 with 8 3/8" barrel. I tried a group from a rest and was only able to get about a 6" group at 75 feet. I was concerned that there was a problem with the...

    Current Production Smiths

I'm coming at this issue fromn a little different perspective. I have two Model 27-2 revolvers with the 8 3/8" barrel. One is a shooter, though I have probably put less than 1000 rounds through it, with maybe 150 max .357 Magnum. I was thinking of selling my other 27-2 which is unfired...

Are Copper Bullets the Rave of the Future for Self-Defense?

Critical Defense from Hornady for me. I keep six rounds loaded in my 27-2 for home defense. The main issue that always bothered me about the .357 Magnum was that a bullet would pass through a bad guy and then several neighbor houses as well. The Hornady bullet takes care of that.

    Shipping Cost

FYI Gander Mountain quoted me $75 to pack, insure, and ship anywhere in the US from Minnesota.

    Model 19-3 Box w/manual Value????

This thread seems as good a place as any to raise a question I have. I have a NIB model 27-2 8 3/8" barrel that I'm trying to value. Looking at GB completed auctions, I come up with around $900 shipped as an asking price. Right now S&W sells a brand new .357 magnum for $809 MSRP. That's with...

    How rare is my 27-2?

Well, good news/bad news. That means my other 27-2 which I'm keeping N185*** which was ordered with target hammer, target trigger and target stocks is somewhat rare. My heirs will appreciate it. Thanks.

    How rare is my 27-2?

Unfired, with box, no papers. I'm the original owner and there is a chance that given the effort, I might find some records from the state of Minnesota. The finish is blue, and the barrel is 8 3/8". The gun has standard hammer and trigger. I'm just guessing that the combination of 8 3/8"...

Does my 27-2 have original stocks?

Thanks. The gun has standard trigger and hammer, which I remember thinking I might have changed. I never got around to it. Now I can honestly say the gun is completely original except for the stocks.

Does my 27-2 have original stocks?

I plan on posting another thread with questions regarding selling my 27-2, but I have one simple question that can be answered quickly. I'm the original owner and I have the box. The gun has target stocks, and I frankly can't remember if I negotiated with the gun shop to put on target stocks...

Lunch Break Score! Model 17 No Dash

Very nice. I have a 17 with target hammer and target trigger I've owned since new. It was my first handgun, and it's not going anywhere.

    New from Minneapolis

Greetings. I have always been a revolver guy. My first was a S&W K22 (Model 17) which was a present from my father at age 17 in 1959. I still have it and shoot regularly in my basement into a bullet trap which was gifted along with the gun. Over the years I purchased a Ruger Blackhawk .357...
