Shooting large bore revolvers: Rubber or wood?

Rubber or Wood? Wood is beautiful, but in that beauty there is pain for my arthritic right hand. All of my S&W revolvers have some form of Hogue grips on them and all of my autoloaders have wood on them, except the polymer framed ones.

I can't shoot my new model 27. From June 1982.

I Feel Your Pain If that were a 5 inch I would understand not shooting it, but since you asked for someone to trade a shooter for your 4 inch 27, I'll let you have my 95% 4 inch Model 15-2 that dates from 1962 in an even up trade. You won't mind shooting that one I'm, sure.:D

    Reliability

I purchased a new M&P 15-22 last fall with three 25 round magazines, but no 10 rounders were available locally at that time. And of course, they still aren't. I field stripped it when I got home and wiped it off and put it back together. I have spent many sessions at the range, firing CCI...

    Warning-- Dillon Precision!!!!!!

Good News! One of my best buds had his house burn to the ground with his 550 in the gun room. It was found in the basement in a glob of melted alloy. He called Dillon and they told him to send it in and they replaced it for free. :) Absolutely no charge. I imagine they wanted him to return...

New 625 JM forcing cone pics

Fla Sun, That second picture looks like the forceing cone should have looked in the first place. Does it shoot a lot better now?

    S&W 940

I had a no dash model. I wanted more power than a .38 +P in my back-up gun and S&W hadn’t come out with the .357 J-frames yet. I had extraction problems with some brands of ammo, once you feed it the right ammo or have it modified; you will have a really good backup.

    Smith&Wessons position on 125g 357

"Sir- Use .38 Special for practice. Magnums for carry." This has been my practice for about thirty years. I shoot .38 +P ammo for IDPA and use 125 grain factory for carry.

Bonanza/Forster Co-Ax Press Whelenshooter, Your friend is right, as far as I am concerned. I have had it for over twenty years and I have been through several single stage presses and none have come close to the Co-Ax for accuracy, speed of changing dies, and the slow but accurate primer...

What is the best revolver for IDPA?

M-66 I have been shooting my S&W M-66 with a 3' barrel for a number of years now. Just recently I have switched to shooting my Kimber Ultra CDP II for IDPA. These are two groups I shot from a rest at 25 yards. The one on the right with .38 158 +P reloads and the one on the left with 158...

Loading Room Here is an old picture of my loading area. If nothing else it has gotten messier since this was taken several years ago. Every time I try to clean the area up I just end up moving everything around so that I can't find anyting anymore!

Model 940 Pocket Moon Clip Carrier

I carried a 940 clip in my right hand pocket for about 8 years and never bent one. My secret is that I wear fairly baggy denim jeans. There isn't much pressure on the clip or printing, for me. We are all individuals and have different needs for carry.

how much did your 1st one cost

How much did my first S&W cost? My first S&W was a 4" Model 10. I bought it from a retired police officer in 1966 for $35, almost two days pay before taxes. I actually used it to shoot a few woodchucks. That revolver led me to buy a new 6" Model 14 in 1966 for $98 (a weeks pay +tax.). That...
