In the wild, I think I was use a gun a little stronger than a 45 ACP. A good size hog’s shoulder will stop the 45 ACP. It sometimes stops a 44 mag. slug.
You need to hit them behind the ear, thru the eye or ear or behind the shoulder in the vital area to effectively kill them.
We get the fresh from the gulf of mexico. I have two good friends that supply me with fresh oyster and Stone crab claws when in season. The clam are not bad also.
Love fresh gulf seafood.
The gun is a 460 S&W with a built in compensator. This model is the performance center with muzzle brake. 8 3/8 barrel. I shot 45 Long colt and 454 casuall most of the time.
Love the gun but need some to damp the recoil with full loads.
thanks
Need opinion on shooting gloves? I have been shooting full loads from my 460 and after 4 or 5 shots my palm starts hurting. I would like to get a shooting glove to help eliminate the pain.
Any suggestions?

Just registered as a new member of the Smith-Wesson forum and wanted to intro myself. I have been shooting since I was 16, which is many, many long years ago. I just purchased a 460 and love it. I am looking forward to tapping in on the vast knowledge contained on this forum.
thanks
