    53gr fmjbt?

Acquired what was supposed to be 55gr fmjbt 223 bullets. Brought them home and because they were in a plastic bag I wanted to ensure what I had I scaled them. Weights ranged from 53 to 53.5 gr. They mic at .224 just behind the cannalure. Appear to be fmjbt. Anybody ever heard of such an animal.

    load data differences

I'm confused about load data from different references. The Speer manual says for 223 55 gr max is 26 gr. (H335) the Hogdon book says max is 25.3. Starting load (Speer) 24 gr. Can I start here and work up by .3 safely. Will I be running close to hot loads at 25 gr. Not looking for hot rounds...

    Working up a load

New to reloading, I started with the minimum load 8gr power pistol without any signs of over pressure. Can I increase charge .3gr or do I have to work up .1gr at a time. Book says max is 9gr. Any advice appreciated.
