    6/25

My 625-3, which originally had a 4" barrel. I sent it back to S&W to have this 5 incher put on and had them do their Combat Revolver package at the same time.

    GET OFF MY LAWN!

You'll need to stake the pin so it doesn't fall out, but otherwise your plan sounds correct. I just use a traditional metal punch to flare the ends of the pin. Edit: I guess I should add you'll definitely need a new pin.

HELP! Brand new 686+ 3" locked up - cylinder release sticking foward

triple-tap-FL, I made a quick video of a similar vintage S&W so you can see what a "working" one looks like, and in the video I point out a couple additional items you could check. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90iiZDjosuU

    Drop Damaged Mod 19-5

I have a yoke alignment gauge but haven't checked the 19-5 yet. I probably should have while my son and I had it all apart the other day. Double action pull is hitch free. The lack of smoothness is in the cylinder release and ejector. bigggbbruce you'd never know that 29-2 was dropped...

That gun vault is super cool but I'd like to hear more about the collection of awards on the wall.

    Drop Damaged Mod 19-5

Admin Edit- Let's leave out the usual lame jokes about dropped guns. ///////////////////////////////////////// original post: I picked up this 19-5 back in 2010, and it's mostly sat in my safe since then. It's obviously lived a hard life, from the looks of things it was dropped...

I always enjoy picts of your organized reloading benches. ,

Here's the gun-section of my (now work from home) office/man cave and a closeup of my bench. It's gone idle for many years as we got busy with kids, but with all the spare time I've had due to the pandemic I've reorganized everything and gotten back to reloading.

    Lyman 358477 (357 Magnum)

The .357 Magnum cartridge diagram in the Lyman book shows the bullet loaded exactly as 38SPL HV as done his--crimped over the top of the front band.

    Zero 158 LSWC .357" OAL

1.450" sounds like a .38 special length. To convert it to .357mag, add .125, resulting in 1.575", which is in the normal range for .357mag seating depth. Any OAL with the case mouth above the top grease groove that will chamber in your revolver is fine in my opinion. I wouldn't get too hung...

    Primer Detonations-Actual Experiences?

I set a primer off loading .357mag on a Lee Loader a few months ago. I was uninjured and nothing went flying. I've never had a primer go off in a press or hand-held priming tool. I've seated primers upside down and sideways (eek), so I probably should have, by now.

Finally got my two--a bronze N-frame and a shiny black K-frame. They look good!

    New to me 460 XVR

Yes, you can shoot jacketed bullets with the lead compensator. The major difference is that the jacketed compensator has the small round ports on the top open and the lead compensator does not. Two problems will occur if you shoot lead bullets with the jacketed compensator: 1. You'll lead up...

Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

The production schedule on the website was updated late yesterday. I still haven't received the two I'm waiting on. One of them is bronze, so I assume they're holding the whole order until the bronze ones are done.

    67-1 sticky extraction

My guess is that your load is generating too little pressure to completely seal the cases against the chamber walls. Are the cases sooty near the mouth after firing? Do you get any soot or crud buildup on the recoil shield?
