I have a 6906 with the factory semi bobbed hammer. I few years ago, I picked up a new fully spurred hammer for it. Any tips or instructions on how to go about changing out the original hammer to the fully spurred hammer? Should this be only done by a gunsmith?
A few years ago, I bought some factory S&W 5906 parts from a place called B&H GunRack in Merritt Island, Florida. I think they bought out a PD's inventory & parts when they changed their service guns. Give 'em a call.
Stay with S&W Factory Mags or Mec-Gar Mags! Check out CDNN as they often offer factory, new & used, and Mec-Gar mags at reasonable prices. As always, be sure to shop around, as prices can very greatly. I've been disappointed by many aftermarket brand mags other than Mec-Gar.

Hey All,
I got a question here too. I picked up a couple used blued factory S&w 8 round mags for my 3906 but they won't snap in. They're a little short and have a slight offset in the metal floor plate. Apparently the older S&W 39's took a slightly shorter mag. Is this assumption correct...
