    S&W Pre Model 34, k22/32 Kit gun

Not to highjack this thread ;) but was it common for a round butt gun to have square butt stocks? I just acquired a Model 36 with very nice square butt target stocks affixed to a round butt 36. Any issues with durability with shooting this as is wrt the stocks?

Went to buy solvent, walked out with a rifle

Consider a CZ... Neat rifle. I had one on 7.62x51 but let it go to simplify my calibers... I love bolt guns and have a number but if I could have only one general purpose "man I love this gun" it would be my CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39. So fun to shoot with irons, so handy, packs a punch and is...

New SW22 Victory 22LR target pistol?

You know what's pretty to me? -- A whole bunch of holes very close together on the target... :) This gun looks very much indeed like a marriage of the buckmark with a ruger 22/45 grip. Its accuracy would be far more important than its presumed aesthetics T

    Moonclip Madness 25-2

Well guys, I know you have probably been losing sleep over this so I thought I'd give you the conclusion. Ordered a replacement screw from ebay - thanks for the heads up - but ended up not using it. Took the gun to my local old school gunsmith who had a pile of original screws laying around...

    Puttin' Lipstick on the Pig

I own an LC9s Pro. It's a fabulous gun. It doesn't matter one bit what color the plastic frame is - especially on a concealed carry firearm. As noted, anybody looking at it from the wrong end won't be laughing at raspberry or bronze.

    Moonclip Madness 25-2

Wow thanks guys I guess bubba got me! I will look for an 8-32 screw at the hardware store. Anyone know the length it's supposed to be? And where one could order a real replacement? (Numritch?). Are these screws the same for all n frames? Thanks for the picture! That's very revealing! Stuck at...

    Moonclip Madness 25-2

Ok guys, thanks for the tips. I removed the Hogue grip and inspected the screw. It measures almost exactly 1/2in in length (left it in the frame and measured from frame to end of screw so not super precise) and the screw shows no appearance of having been shortened or molested in any way (no...

    Moonclip Madness 25-2

How tight is tight? Ok guys, thanks for the fast responses. So Full Disclosure - I'm not sure how to measure how "tight" the strain screw is...it's flush with the grip frame and not loose. Is it supposed to be torqued in some specific amount? How would I measure that? Should I just really...

    Moonclip Madness 25-2

Hi guys, Thanks for the earlier suggestions on the 25-2 trigger. Ok, second issue. When using metal moonclips or RIMZ moonclips, I get FTF with 45ACP rounds in double action. 100% firing with single action using the same moonclips. Maybe 50% with moonclips - seems to work better with faster...

    25-2 Trigger in Single Action - Takeup/Click

options Well thanks for the suggestions guys! I think we've covered the spectrum from: 1. Ignore it - it's a two stage trigger :) 2. Oil it 3. Don't oil it 4. Take it to a smith to adjust the sear engagement 5. Tighten/or loosen mainspring screw tension :) Just like I was thinking :) I...

    25-2 Trigger in Single Action - Takeup/Click

Hi guys, Just acquired a nice 25-2 sight unseen and am generally happy with my Gunbroker purchase. That said, there is amount of "takeup" in the single action trigger pull that is bothering me and I wanted to fish for some opinions here on whether to ignore it or pursue it further... The...

    625-8 JM Sights Replacement/Re-Install?

Thanks everyone for the info. I took the gun to the range today and really enjoyed it. And yes, I find the serrated trigger to be sub optimal for the double action firing. Ouch. It has a fairly stiff double action pull but the single sure is nice and crisp. I shot mostly single... Gunhacker -...

    25-2 Blued Trigger (!)?

Hi guys, So I picked up my 25-2 this evening and I'm very pleased with it. One surprise, that did not show up in the gunbroker photos (at least not to me) is that the trigger - a wide target trigger -- has been blued. No not case hardened, but blued... I'm pretty sure this is not how it left...
