I walked into Academy Sports looking for ... I forget, walked out with a Springfield Armory R.O. in 9mm. They had it marked for clearance! I cleared it all the way to my safe.
Salesman in the store said when certain guns aren't moving fast enough Academy will clearance them to move them out. I look at their online adds now.

I like the rifle. But the mags kept me from having 1 in my collection. If it took the AR mag it would have really increased the sale of this rifle. I looked at the Mossberg MVP just looks cheap. But takes regular AR mags big Plus

Picked up a synthetic Scout in 7.62 at a good price quick as I could last year. It's my new best friend.

Consider a CZ...

Neat rifle. I had one on 7.62x51 but let it go to simplify my calibers...

I love bolt guns and have a number but if I could have only one general purpose "man I love this gun" it would be my CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39.

So fun to shoot with irons, so handy, packs a punch and is plenty accurate inside 200 yards

Good point, Dave. Can't imagine why a .223/5.56 rifle would not use the AR mag. If capacity is an issue, 5-rounders could be issued with the rifle. IIRC, Remington's 760 (7600?) patrol rifle of several years ago in this caliber used the AR mag.
