Yes it is heavier. Large pistol primers require a harder hit to ignite hence the striker spring is heavier resulting in a heavier trigger pull. Using an apex sear and stock springs, I can get about a 4.5 # pull with the .45. I haven't been able to beat that without lighter springs.

The upgraded parts aren't available anywhere. Anyone who has them had the older versions. I've been looking for over a year now. If anyone see the new parts out there, let us know.

You may be able to add the thumb safety to you gun with just a couple of parts. Look at your frame and see if there are 1/4 inch square plugs where the safety would stick out of the frame. They would be on both sides. If you do (and I am almost positive all do now) then you need 2 parts...
