    657 3" product cd. 103951, # made?

Friend just picked up one of these 3" .41 mags. without the box. It appears to be the 1986 model, product code 103951. We're wondering how many were produced - apparently they were made for only one year. There appears to be some discussion or suggestion that there is a Jovino connection on...

Found: a nice, gently used 4526!! Photos added 11/27!

K22fan, This a .45 ACP, not a 10mm. Not sure if they were standard with the straight back strap or not. I have a small hand and don't want to add to the back of the grip but I did find the slip on grip sleeve added a bit to the side of the grip. I've not yet shot it with the grip sleeve so the...

Ca. Corr. Peace Off. Comm. Model 10 ???

My friend just picked up a Ca. Correctional Peace Officer’s Assoc. Silver Anniversary commemorate. It's a 3", nickled, round butt, Model 10-8, Ser. no. ACV80xx. I did not find it listed in the SCSW 3rd ed. Can anyone shed some light on this? How many? etc.?? Thanks! Terry T

Found: a nice, gently used 4526!! Photos added 11/27!

Was in the LGS a few weeks ago with my son, a CHP officer, and he spotted a very clean 4526. He liked it because he functions like his service piece which has a slide mounted, spring loaded, de-cocker. I thought it was unusual so worked the magic (card) and picked it up for $500 (plus fees) with...

    Another Model 12 question

Sigh, no longer legal to sell guns at garage sales in Ca. At that price, I'd say she 'stole' it. Very nice. I did pay a bit more for mine. Still, they don't seem to show up very often. Terry T

How 'rare' is a 4" ROUND butt model 12-2?

I just picked one up after looking for a couple of years. They just don't seem to show up very often. See another thread with the same question but different heading: http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1961-1980/218315-another-model-12-question.html Terry T

    Another Model 12 question

How rare? 4" ROUND butt model 12? I just picked up a 4" ROUND butt model 12-2. It's only the second one I've seen in a couple of years of looking. (First was ANIB W/Box and way too nice to use as a carry piece). They just don't seem to show up very often. By the way, I also have a 2" SQUARE...

What's has been the hardest S&W for you to find

Took 10 years but I got it It took 10 years but I finally landed an original 3 inch model 632 ANIB with the box. I'd seen only one other and it wasn't for sale. My letter from S&W states that only 440 were made. It's a mate to the 2" 632 that I picked up 10 years before. Only 990 of those put...

    A modest 'J' frame collection

Engine18, While I do have some 'N' frame .45s and a 10mm, not to mention some .357mags, as I approach the autumn of my life, I'm thinking that in another 20 years or so, the .32s might be just the trick. The humpy-back thingys do slip in my bathrobe unnoticed - no one at "The Old Folks Home"...

    A modest 'J' frame collection

No .38spl in a 9mm. Firearmsrookie, No, one can not shoot .38 Special in a 9mm. While the bore is almost the same (just a 1,000th or 2 difference), the chambers are different. I believe the chamber is too short in the 9mm. Case diameter is also different and may result in bust cases. One...

    A modest 'J' frame collection

The 3" 940 is the latest Thanks Tekarra, The 3" 940 is the latest one. Just showed up, ANIB w/box, at a local 'pusher' just a couple of miles from my house a couple of weeks ago. Never thought I'd see one in Ca. much less in my town! They are not on our 'safe gun' list and can not be 'imported'...
