Haha. I traded with a friend. I figured if I didn't like the Sigma I could sell it and use that money plus the $150 to get something else. But...I fell in love with the Sigma :D
I'm inspired. I bought a used SW40F and am in the process of rehauling it's guts. New trigger return spring, striker spring, slide insert, extractor, etc...
Now it looks like I need to mod one of those nifty HiViz fiber optic sights for a Glock and pop it on my pistol!!! Very excited.
It's all good. It was actually your video that brought the dampening spring to my attention and I am very thankful for that! I had removed it before I saw the video.
Like I said before, I've taken apart a lot of pistols and had never seen a dampened spring before. Now I know ;). The pistol was...
Sorry but I've never seen a dampened spring before. I normally don't use a q-tip to clean up but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Since I was cleaning around the spring and noticed my mangled q-tip head and cotton coming out of the spring, one's logical conclusion would be that I put...
Which directions are you referring to? The weapon was in excellent shape when I received it. I could tell it hadn't been shot much. The guy I bought it from rarely shot it (from what he told me). Even if I had seen the tampon in the spring before I cleaned the pistol I still would have thought...
Sorry. I couldn't resist the title.
I brought this up in an old thread but I think my next question needed a new one.
If the fiber dampener in the Sigma's trigger return spring is removed, is it a problem?
Read below for why I ask...
"I bought a SW40F from a friend and after reading the...
Do you have instructions on how to replace it?
But that's not the point. The point is if someone does what I did and doesn't know any better it could be a potentially deadly situation when their firearm fails to work when needed. So, I'm not worrying about myself necessarily, but everyone S&W...
I know this is an old thread but it is important.
I bought a SW40F from a friend and after reading the manual decided to clean it. I used a Q-tip around the trigger return spring and cleaned everything up really nice. I used a Q-tip to get some powder out of places I couldn't get with my...
Ok, I took it out to the range today and shot 100 rounds through it. I shot it fairly well considering it was my first time with a Sigma and that type of trigger. I've posted my first target results below. This was with 165gr Federal FMJ at 15 yards. This is perfectly acceptable for me being I'm...
I only shot the Ruger a few times. It was an alright pistol. It kicked like a mule compared to my 1911 and XD45. I really wanted to try the Sigma because I heard it was a sleeper. I figured with all that I was given for the Ruger I couldn't lose. Most of the problems about the early Sigmas seem...
I just traded my Ruger P345 for a Sigma SW40F with two 15 round magazines, $150 cash and a box of ammo. Think it was a good trade off? I'm taking it to the range tomorrow. I feel that if I were a girly man I would have a problem with the D/A trigger...but I'm not. Here are some pictures...
My personal take:
Glock
- non USA company
- horrible ergonomics (my opinion)
Sigma
- USA Company
- Amazing ergonomics
Thats about as simple as it gets for me.
