New 9mm Shield Very Hard to Slide Lock

Mine was stiff at first too. After reading similar threads here, I tried just really yanking on the side to get it back far enough to slide lock. I've got just shy of 700 rounds through it now & I don't have to put near as much effort into getting the slide back. Sent from my SM-G900V using...

smith and wesson m&p 9 full size problem

My m&p 40 does the same. Just make doubly sure that the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction & make sure to keep your finger of of the trigger.

Question For LEOs Regarding Ammo Choice In Court

To short answer your original question, you can either try to use what local LEOs use our go with whatever commercially available ammo marketed and labeled as SELF DEFENSE that works in your gun that you can find. As long as it's not some super duper man hunter zombie killer, the focus will be...

You will need a jacket on when you read this!! Gun control is not the answer.

    Beretta Nano 9mm

I carry the Nano just about every day (weekends I go with my m&p 40). It's a comfortable carry, well balanced, and an accurate shot. It took about 400 break in rounds to be carry-worthy and hasn't had even one malfunction. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

9mm seems inferior to me. Why?

I've got a standing invitation for anybody who thinks this caliber isn't effective or that caliber is the wonder-bullet to head down range and hold my target for me. Haven't had any takers yet. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

Compliance or retaliation ... The better choice?

I'm not looking for a fight by any stretch. But capitulating isn't a guarantee that you'll get out alive our unharmed. A guy was robbed in Ft Worth a few months back. He gave up all he had on him ($60 our so). The "robber" said that it wasn't enough and shot the guy. I guess the victim should...

Compliance or retaliation ... The better choice?

Since you seem to have an insight into the criminal mind that the rest of us lack. Please enlighten us. What is the secret to knowing whether the criminal is there only for robbery or if they are there for more than that? How will you know that whatever you have in your pocket will be enough...

Compliance or retaliation ... The better choice?

Absolutely! Looking at the total picture, if there's a way to get out of a confrontation before it becomes a confrontation that would be the better way to go. But having a legal requirement to retreat puts the intended victim in a very bad spot. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Compliance or retaliation ... The better choice?

There's a time for thinking and a time for doing, but rarely time for both. So the idea that you'll assess the situation as it unfolds and decide what you'll do depending in how the events unfold is a bit foolhardy. Adequate preparedness includes knowing what you'll do BEFORE it happens. The...

    BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY

Unfortunately, you don't get to make that call. The $30 that you have on you may be $10 or $20 short of what Mr Thug "needs". When he says gimme what you got or I'll kill you, he's just set the value of your life at the $30 that you have on you. And the only way to renegotiate the deal is with...

How often do you clean your guns?

I typically shoot once or twice every 2-3 weeks. I try to clean up after every range trip, but I'm not always successful. My carry gun gets first dibs, but I may extend my m&p 40 to two range trips between cleanings. I probably should make it a point to clean my carry gun more often, but if a...

    BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY

Like most places, it depends on how you word it. Going all Dirty Harry online indeed could make a defense a bit more difficult should the unfortunate need arise. But I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that you're willing to fire a weapon in self-defense until such time as the...

Does anyone else get rubbed the wrong way by Glock

Fan boys are just that - committed to their product of choice & zealous promoters of such. Too bad for them. Because there's a great big world out there just waiting to be explored and enjoyed. My first pistol was a gen 3 G17. I put just short of 3k flawless rounds through it before it was...
