Carrying this out further, can a -2 top be mated to a -1 frame?

I am holding TJC1814 in my sweaty little hand. Is your 5903 done with the short frame? I forget the story about why that happened. The wrap around grip on mine comes down lower than the frame. Magazine seats perfectly against the grip. Looks odd. And the frame is marked 5903.

My 1100.00 1066 came with 2 mags and night sights, along with the original sights. Bought it from a friend who was offsetting the cost of a new 24,000.00 shot gun. Sold me the 1066 for what he paid on GB 10/3/2019.

Excellent point, all of my shooting in my 745 is with 200 gr semi wadcutter H&G 68 cast bullets over 5.8 grains of Winchester 231, using Winchester large pistol primers. 900 fps. One hole cloverleaf groups at 50 feet.

And it totally out shoots my 645!

I love the 745 I am looking at four of the five 745's I have. Three have fixed sights, all product number 103721. The adjustable sight product number is 103906. My second adjustable sighted model originally had fixed sights, changed when returned to S&W for a comp. Shot my first 745 over...

I might be throwing gasoline on a dying fire, but I do have two complete Model 52 parts sets. If a serious effort was to be made to high cap a 52, i'm in.
