M&P 15 MOE Mid length accuracy question

With my mp-15T I can easily shoot 2" groups @ 50 yds free standing using cheap 55 grain tulammo, factory trigger and a 1:9 barrel. Shooting from a rest with a custom trigger your rifle should definetly be capable of 1-2" groups. I'm not a terrific shot either. If youre shooting >3" groups at...

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

Lol, just keeps getting better. Was he clear that he was refering to the 15T and not the sport? In the email response I recieved they included a blurb about the sport switching to a 1/9 as if it refered to my rifle but that they would switch it out any way. I'm kind of afraid to send it in. Who...

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

Just got an email back from S&W, they didn't say it in so many words but basically in my earlier contact w them the rep seems to have confused the T with the sport and the information he gave about the barrel change was indeed for the sport. They have now sent me a shipping label to have the...

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

You can try emailing SW with the serial number. If you got a 1:8 then perhaps they switched back. I always kinda figured they were just throwing the 1:9 barrels on cause they ran short on stock when people were buying them like crazy. If so really make me think those of us who got the lesser...

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

Np, the 1:9 still shoots great btw. It's also melonite treated which I personally consider an upgrade from the older chrome 1:9. I can try to find that email if youd like to reference who I received it from.

Puzzled on the MP15 Sport- pls help

I have one of the post Jan. '13 15T's and can confirm they are infact 1:9 twist. There have been some conflicts between what various "reps" have reported and whats on the SW website but unless they have again switched anything assembled after Jan of this year is a 1:9 w/ standard rifling. I...

Trying to decide on optics for my AR-15

A Redfield revenge 3-9 is what I'm using now actually. Picked up and looked through a number of scopes including many that were much more expensive and the redfield gave me the fastest crosshair aquisition and focus by far. Other scopes where "a little" brighter but for me being able to raise...

Trying to decide on optics for my AR-15

Given the condition that our m60s and m14s were it may very well have been. :)

Trying to decide on optics for my AR-15

I think if my life was on the line I would go with a good quick aquisition iron sight to begin with. Irons dont need to batteries or a power switch. :) The holos might improve reaction and first shot time at close range vs iron but at those ranges a laser may do more for reaction speed than an...

Trying to decide on optics for my AR-15

I know lots of people like them and I'm sure they're nice optics but I've yet to find any justification for optics in the aimpoint eotech price range. As long as it holds zero and you can see in one end and out the other seems to me it would just come down to magnification level.

    Buttstock advice

Will that compartment on the acs hold a bore snake? I like the lighter weight and lower price on the ctr but might be worth the .2 lbs and $20 if I can get some xtra practical use out of it. I can fit a small bottle of lube in the magpul grip I put on so room for a snake would be handy for...

    Buttstock advice

The factory stock on my 15t has an aweful lot of wiggle to it. Enough that I'm afraid it may be introducing some wiggle particularly when shooting offhand. First, is it fairly normal and second, do you think a fairly basic magpul aftermarket stock would provide a tighter fit or should I save for...

    My Build So Far

A nice setup I'm sure. Certainly wouldnt be unwelcome in my gun case. But... Seems kinda like buyin a ford focus then spending $100k giving it gold plated rims and platinum exaust. A whole lot a money for not a lot of function. If you had that much to spend why not go for some top end rare rifle...

Does this look right to you??

Looks like the tried to grind down the threads on one side then apply a filler metal or weld and then rethread it. What a botch. The man hours for the work probably cost more than a replacement barrel would have. Looks like something someone tried out of boredom just to see if it would work.
