From what I've read the only poor 1911SC E series pistols made were during the first couple months. They weren't to good. Since then they've got a sterling reputation.

I'm in Colorado Springs and every few months they get .22mag in at Walmart. Here they get ammo in half their stores one day and the same type ammo in the other half of the stores the next day.

I got lucky in Nov. MidwayUSA had Hornady Critical Defense .22mag in 50, 500, or 2000 round boxes. I bought a 2000.They had it for around 6 hours or so. Found it using gunboat.net.

I just bought a S&W 351PD for $600 using Armslist Utah. Didn't even consider lowballing. It was hard enough finding one for only $600. Can't find them in gun stores(allocated) and the last one I could have bought was sold on Gunbroker for $670. Talking to the seller he said he had one interested...
