Welcome to the family! Give it some time and this one gun will multiply as you fall in love with the M&P's. I myself have two, 9mm compact and 9mm Shield with plans to get more. I have see guys on here who have ten or more.
You made a great choice!
As stated already its not a problem other than the way it looks. With the flat metal finish on the mag it does stand out a bit. It seems that S&W paid a lot of attention to details on the gun overall but in this one very small area the mag finish or lack of finish does stick out.
Regardless...
You wont go wrong with the M&P 9c for CC or home defense. If you really want to cover your bases buy a 17 round mag and a mag extension. Makes range time a bit more fun as less time is spent reloading. At night pull out your short CC mag and insert the 17 round mag loaded with your choice of man...
I was wondering what IWB holsters people were finding out there. I'm also interested in what they liked or didn't like after some time wearing them.

I was looking at both slides side by side and noticed that on my 9c the recoil spring seats...
I have a question about the slide on my Sheild. I took the gun to the range tonight for the second time. The total round count for the gun is 200. It shoots very well, 8 rounds in a 2 inch group at 15 feet.
Tonight I shot 100 rounds and realized that the slide never locked open when the last...
I checked mine and was amazed by how little rearward pressure was required to cause this issue. Even if I holster the gun with my thumb on the back of the slide, whos to say that a little bump here or there througout the day will not be enough to knock the gun out of battery.
I would sure hate...
I've had several M&P's and the Shield is by far my favorite for many reasons. That being said I must agree with the idea that you should not miss out on owning a great gun over what is in the end a very minor component of the gun. Sure it has a purpose yet at the same time it can be argued that...
