While the flare launchers above are always of interest to me....
To be clear, this is not a flare launcher but rather a tear gas launcher that is - coincidentally or not - of .44 S&W *chamber* dimensions.
The thread got started as I had asked a question on another thread about format and where...
Thank you for the description and the wonderful photographs.
I was completely unaware of that hammer style. Good to know. Were I to see one in a bin I'd have likely thought it an un-finished piece.
I appreciate the information and the photographs.
At least the second time that the hammer has been commented upon.
That's an interesting switch.
I wonder - for the super-geniuses - which hammer did Registered Magnums have?
I share your caliber-inflation reluctance.
It's caused me to pass on a great many firearms and carries somewhat over to magazine-inflation reluctance as well.
For me; too nice is TOO nice. Assuming that when we are speaking of condition it is an appearance issue.
80% would imply that I've had and enjoyed it for a few years and so the previously fella doing the same assuages any guilt on my part.
But then too - NIB for me is just a gun I haven't...
That's rather where I end up with this one when logic takes over.
I have to believe that a .44 S&W cartridge fitting HAS to be coincidental to the designed-for tear gas cartridge.
The .22 pen-guns, I get as they have reasonably believable barrels.
It was too dark to take one yesterday and I really posted only to find out if it was OK to address these on the forum and once approved, I'd build a proper post.
So:
It came from an estate sale of a former LE type. Looking into it, most often, the Lake Erie Chemical Company item is addressed...
Got it. I'll take that too. I was just hoping that it wasn't in the mid 50's as most that I see listed are. Wouldn't really matter in the end - just a bit less common.
Seems like the vast majority I came across in looking were strangely within the same couple of years of '55-'56.
I recently found a Lake Erie Chemical Company (LECC) .44 cal pen-launcher/(gun?) in an estate sale.
I understand that LECC was owned by either S&W and/or Bangor Punta and figured here might be a good place to ask about it but I figured to check here first as these are such weird items.
Is it...
